Christmas Wishes

I don't know about you but I am still working on gifts and cards. I am done with the exception of a few cards. So I decided I would post about one of the latest ones I made. It has non traditional colors but a very traditional design. I love to stitch and this time tried using the white Hemp instead of floss. It gives it a bolder and a bit rougher texture and look. The card comes together like this-- I started with a Barn Red card base. 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. I inked all papers with Cocoa ink. Then I took a piece of Desert Sand CS 5 1/4 x 4 and stitched approx. 1/8th from the edge. Then attach to the card front. Next I cut a piece of Cocoa CS 4 x 3. I attached that 1/2" from top and sides. Next cut a 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 square of Kraft CS. Stamp the wreath with Desert Sand and then add the berries with Barn Red. Finally add the sentiment in the center of the wreath with Barn Red. On a scrap of White Daisy CS stamp the bow with Barn Red and the Dove with Cocoa. Cut both out. Ink the edges of the bow with Barn Red. Attach the bow at the bottom of the wreath and add a Mocha Pearl to the center of the bow. Using the pleated ribbon cut a 4" piece. Take the White Hemp and wrap around the pleated ribbon a few times and end with a bow. Adhere this to the lower portion of the Cocoa CS piece. Using one of the Pin Clips, insert the Dove and then push it into the pleated ribbon. The last thing I did was add a piece of the Kraft CS to the inside and stamped a sentiment.

I can see making this with other colors and papers. If I have time I will try it with some different colors and post it.

Supplies:
