Another Halloween Treat box

Here is another Halloween treat box using a clear pillow box as the container for the goodies. Add a little B&T paper and Bronze Glitter trim to decorate the box. The Bronze Glitter Trim is adhesive backed and I pleated it to add to the edge of the B&T paper. It pleated so easily because of the adhesive back. The pleats stayed in place with each pleat made. Then I stamped  the Skeleton from the stamp set Creepy Creatures C1522 and the pumpkin and sentiment banner strips from B1413 Perfect Fit-Halloween. The first one was stamped using Cocoa ink and the second box I used Chocolate ink. Fill the box with the candy of your choice and you are set.

Halloween Treat Tube Projects

This is a 5 treat tube holder. It is a fun to make and looks good on your table for Halloween and/or as a gift. I used all CTMH products. The stamp sets are B1429 Eek & Shriek and C1509 Magic Potions. To jazz it up a little I glittered the cat with black glitter. DO you see the hexagon shapes in the front? They are a new product called Irresistibles. It is chipboard hexagon shapes with a resist pattern on them. When you ink them any color you want the resist pattern shows up. They come in multiple sizes and resist patterns. One other technique used was stamping with Colonial white pigment ink on black cardstock for the spooky look.

I also made up single treat tube holders. That was a different style of box and decorated simply with a strip of B&T paper around the middle. Add a tag and some candy and you have a cute gift or display item.
The next 2 pictures show a couple of areas in my home with some Fall and Halloween decorations. You can see the treat tube projects and some others I made last year. The Boo banner was from the Spellbound kit and cut with the Artiste Cricut cartridge. It uses almost all of the images with the Halloween key on pg 77 .If you use the letter and number method for finding the right keys it is E7+ Accent 1 for some of the banner shapes and E7 +shift+ Accent 1 for the other banner shapes, E7 and Shift for the "BOO" title. E7 and Accent 2 for the rosettes and E7 plus Shift plus 3D Object for scallop shapes on each banner front and for the spider webs E7 plus shift plus Accent 2.   The Harvest banner was also cut from the Artiste Cricut cartridge. The banner shape was the same E7 plus Accent 1and the zigzag strips were on pg 75 E5 plus Shift plus Accent2. The Font from this cartridge was used for the title. The cut out leafs were stamped using the stamp set C1504 Fall Harvest.
I made a small  leaf quilt hanging shown  in the center of the table too.

I hope you enjoyed these projects. Thanks for stopping by. I have some layouts and cards that will be coming in the following days.

Countdown To Halloween

Today to start the month of October I have a Countdown to Halloween project. It was made by using two 3 x 3 chipboard blocks for the base. Again I used the Moonlight paper pack to decorate each block. Add a few Halloween brads,Glitter, Chipboard numbers, stamping, embossing and voila finished cubes to Countdown to Halloween.

I took a few pictures of the different sides of each block. You just turn the blocks each day to reflect the number of days until Halloween remains.

Try making a set of your own. They were lot's of fun and can be decorated in so many ways.

Thanks for stopping by. See you next time.

Cofffin Treat Boxes

Tomorrow is Oct 1st already!!! Can you believe it? Halloween will be here before we know it. So I decided I better get crafting on some more Halloween projects. I have a couple more to show you. Today I have the Coffin Treat Boxes. One version I made is shown on pg 70 of the CTMH Autumn/Winter Idea Book. It was cut with the Artiste Cricut Cartridge at 7.5". Because it is one of the cuts on that cartridge of course you can cut it big or small or anywhere in between. The second one I will show you is smaller at 5.5".

This is the 7.5" one made with Kraft card stock.  I used the Halloween stamp "All Hallows Eve" to stamp a background image , a  spider web, and spider.I did a tone on tone look for the background image using Desert Sand as my ink color. Then  I used versamark ink and  black embossing powder on the web. Next I added the spider adding a black sparkle for his body. Finish it off with a little Twine and a banner and you are all set.
For the second one I used paper from the Moonlight paper pack. It has cute little owls on it. For this one I chose to decorate with other cuts from the Artiste Cartridge. There is one page that has a different Halloween image on each button under the same key. So I did the "Spooky" word, RIP tombstone, web border, tag and skeleton. The label that the "Spooky "is on is the same cartridge but different key. There are so many good images on the Artiste cartridge. It is so much fun.

Come back tomorrow for a "Countdown to Halloween Project.
Thanks for stopping by.

More Halloween with Moonlight

I am really lovng the Moonlight Paper Pack from CTMH for Halloween laouts etc this year. I am trying to have a couple of layouts ready to just add pictures when the Halloween celebration comes around next month. I posted one a few days ago and Ihave another today for you.

This one uses a couple of techniques. One is a stamping technique called "Swiping". I used that on the "BOO" title and on the "Beware" sign. Take your stamp and ink it up normally but then before you stamp take it and swipe it across the ink pad from left to right. Now stamp your image. You get a really different look to your image. I have a close up picture for you here.

The next technique I used was with the spray pen. I mixed rubbing alcohol and colonial white re-inker together in my spray pen. Then I sprayed intermittently over the Black CS base pages. My goal was to give it a "smokey" "eerie" look. What do you think? I also used the edge distress tool to rough up the base page edges and title edges. Here is a close-up of the spray pen look.
Lastly I did some stamping, added some blingwith black & grey sparkles and some brads from the Haunted Assortment collection. Popped up the photo mats and title and journaling blocks for a little dimension. All products from CTMH. Here is the complete layout.
This layout holds two 4 x 6 photos on each page. One goes on the smokey plum photo mat and the other goes in the black space.

Thanks for stopping by. See you next time.

Moonlight and Halloween....

I was hoping I  could be ahead of some of the holidays this year by having some layouts, Home Dec items and treat boxes ready to go before the Halloween Holiday happens instead of long afterwards. So with Halloween sneaking up on us I thought I better get started.  My first project is a quick and simple but I think very cute layout. I am also going to make a Home Dec project and a treat box type project in the next couple of weeks so I will be back with those.

Here is my layout using the Moonlight paper pack and the Dimensional Elements that go with the Moonlight collection.  The colors are Smokey Plum. Slate, Sweet Leaf and Black. The papers were all inked with Smokey Plum ink. Along with the Dimensional Elements I also used Black sparkles between the pennants. The left page has room for three 4 1/2 x 3 1/2 photos. The right page is a 4 x6 photo and journal strips to the left of the Haunted House Dimensional Element.

I love the papers in this Moonlight pack. The colors are so perfect for Halloween and yet they can be used for masculine cards etc and much more. Most all of the CTMH papers can be used in a number of different layouts etc.

Thanks for stopping by. Any questions let me know. See you next time.

A Frightful Night

A Frightful Night

I made this Halloween layout to get ready to put my Granddaughter's pictures on this year. I wanted to be ready and am so excited. She will be just shy of 2 years old and is going to be a Butterfly. I will return with these pages complete with pictures after Halloween.
This layout was done almost completely on the Cricut. Isn't that amazing? The only cut not on the Cricut were the photo mats. This layout was done by Scrappedlives. She worked this design up on the Design Studio and made the file available last year. She has quite the talent in my opinion. I give her all the credit for this design. It isn't available any longer but she has many other files that are fantastic if you would want to check them out. Just click Here if you want to go to her site.
Along with cutting all the pieces I inked every piece!!! That took some time but I think it really helped in making it eery looking. I used white on all the black pieces. Even those tiny latches on the door and the bats. In the recipe below I will give all the colors I used.
At least I will be ready (for a change) lol to finish this Halloween layout.

Spiders Oh My!!

I'm trying to get some Halloween cards, layouts and decorations done. Here is a start on my projects.

The web was cut from the Cricut. It is a cut file I downloaded from this web site, Just For Sharing. I couldn't believe how well it cut. I changed the card quite a bit from hers once I got it cut. I hope the glitter on the web shows up and my dangling spider. It was fun to do and now I'm off to see what I can get done next. I might actually end up ready for a Holiday!!. lol Do you think it's possible?

Thanks for stopping by.

Halloween Votive Holders

I made these little votive holders to set up on the mantle for Halloween. I used some very old wood CTMH stamps sets. The pumpkins was called the Pumpkin Patch and it was a single stamp. The other two were made from then set called Trick or Treaters. I used a heavy vellum and stamped in black on the front. Then I took CTMH markers and colored in on the back side. I used some DMC floss to sew the 2 pieces together and slip them over a glass candle holder. Then put in a tea light or candle and light. The glow from the flames shines through the image and they are really cute!. Fun, Easy and Quick to make using any stamps you would want. My vellum pieces were cut 2 1/2 x 6. Cut the vellum according to the size candle holders you are using. Two for each one you would make. You could put the ends together in a number of different ways also.

Halloween Spinner Card

I wanted to make a halloween card for my Granddaughter for her first Halloween. Now she is only 11 months old for her first Halloween so she won't know what it is all about, but I thought if I made an interactive card she would have seeing the movement. So I decided on the Spinner Card. I used CTMH Boo-tiful and Happy Haunting stamp sets. I also used some misc halloween stamps, Cloud 9 paper and CTMH Colonial White, Autumn Terracotta and black inks.
