Express Yourself

Today I have a simple card using the Wings Workshop Kit and the Spray Pen. You get an interesting look with the Spray Pen.

The flower was made by stamping five hearts from the Wings exclusive stamp set. A Button Brad was added for the center. The pieces that have somewhat of a pink speckled look are from using the Spray Pen with the Vineyard Berry Re-Inker, Pearl Paint and Rubbing alcohol mixed together.  Two more Button Brads were placed down in the corner to balance it all off. The card base is Sweet Leaf Card stock. This is just 1 of the cards that are detailed in the workshop.
Thanks for stopping by.

A Little Princess

Here is another layout using the Wings Workshop Kit from CTMH. If you haven't ever heard of these kits they are a really good value and you get  to learn a new technique with each kit. An example of what comes in a kit is a Level 2 paper pack which includes patterned paper and card stock, an embellishment that coordinates with the kit, an exclusive stamp set and a a Guide showing how to make these 2 pages and 3 different cards. The embellishment is the Mini Medley Black collection and a Spray Pen.. The colors in this kit are Vineyard Berry, Sweet Leaf and Black. The technique used in making the layout was using the Spray Pen and spraying to add shimmer and color to different parts of the design. The sentiment on the right page was done by placing the stamp on the paper without any ink using it as a mask. Then loading the pen with Pearl Paint, Vineyard Berry Re-Inker and either water or Rubbing Alcohol and spraying over the paper and stamp. Then you remove the stamp and you are left with a blank space without any color. Clean off the stamp and then stamp it as you normally would with black ink in that open space. This Spray Pen is going to be lot's of fun in many projects to come.
This is the stamp set that came in this kit. I will have some more  projects in the coming days showing some other uses with this stamp and these papers.

Another Wings Project

DSC02780

Here is a Bookmark made using the Wings paper pack and the Stamp set titled “Dreams Come True” D1470. It is a Vineyard Berry cardstock base. Then add the butterfly B&T . The final piece is a Colonial White CS. On this piece all the stamping is done using the  “Dreams Come True”  It is this piece that you stamp the word “Dream” in  the center of the upper  portion and use part of the flourish on the lower portion. Stamp the Rose using Vineyard  Berry ink. Stamp using the second generation technique and Rock & Roll around the edges. The result is a lighter interior and bold outline. Cut out this design. Add a strip of the sweet leaf checked B&T 1/2” up from the bottom. Add the Rose to the left side of this strip. To finish up the Bookmark add a 1/4” strip folded in half for the top ribbon look. Attach with a Black Button brad. Add 2 more of these brads above the rose and the other on the  lower  bottom right.  You now have a completed  Bookmark to use for that favorite book you’re reading. Have fun making one of your own.

Level 1 Wings Layouts

Here  are 2 layouts using the Level 1 Wings papers and Stickease. CTMH  offers this line for those that want to Scrapbook with the FASTER, EASIER, SIMPLER method. I usually make my layouts like the previous 2 layouts I posted. I like to incorporate stamping, different techniques like distressing, embossing, interactive elements to name a few. I also like to use a variety of embellishments  when completing  my pages. However while putting these 2 pages together I really had fun and was very happy with the results. It is another example of how to have beautiful layouts with very little time.  Hope you like them.

“Wings” Layouts

DSC02786

DSC02788

In these two layouts I used the paper called Wings and the layout designs from the How-To book called Magic. I used the Wings Level 2 paper pack. The Inks are Black, New England Ivy and Vineyard Berry.  The techniques used were edge distressing with a CTMH Edge Distresser or using your scissors. This was done around the base pages and some of the black checked B&T papers.  The stamp set titled  Dreams Come True was used to  make the flower embellishments.  For the butterflies and the title “Smile” the stamp set titled “ Take a Picture” was used. To complete the layout I used the Black Mini Medley. I used many of the items included in that collection including the black brads , black button brads, corduroy brads  and the striped ribbon.  The  Wings Level 2 Assortment was also used for the Juniper pleated ribbon.

This layout has an interactive element on the second page. The black checked tag looking element has a journaling tag that pulls out from the top by pulling the flower above the ribbon which is what the tag is attached to.  This is just one example of the many interactive layouts you can make from using the  Magic book .

I have some more layouts and some other items I made using the Wings paper.  I will post these in the days ahead.
