A Very Cute Binder Clip

This is a quick and cute project to make.
It is a binder clip.  In this case I placed a 2010 calendar in the top but you could put a photo  or a memo, recipe card, notes to name a few other uses. The ribbon tied around the silver portion of the clip is what holds what is placed between these clip legs.
To make the calender like mine you need:
  •   2" binder clip
  •  2 x 3 1/4" patterned paper (cardstock weight) to cover binder clip
  • 2 1/4" x 2 3/4" cardstock to attach calendar to
  • 8" piece of ribbon
  • Hollyhock ink, chocolate ink
  • 2" and 1 1/2" scallop circle Fiskars punches
  • 3 brads
  • 1/2" corner rounder
  • CTMH B1306 Cottage Floral Stamp set
  • Scor-Tape
  • Glue Dots
Instructions:
  1. Distress all paper pieces with the Chocolate ink
  2.  Using the 2"x3 1/4" strip apply a piece of Scor-Tape at each end. Place one end up under lip of black port.ion of the clip and wrap around to the other side and insert under the lip again. Crease as you fold it around along the edges
  3. Punch your  scallop circles, distress with chocolate ink.  Stamp the first flower image using the Second Generation technique and then the second image on top with First Generation using Hollyhock ink and the Cottage Floral stamp set.
  4. Insert a brad through the center of both scallop circles and adhere to bottom portion of the clip with a glue dot.
  5. Use the corner rounder on the upper sides only of the  2 1/4 x 2 3/4 cardstock piece. Also do the same on the calender pieces.
  6. With a paper piercer make a hole through all 12 calendar pages in the top two corners and insert a brad to keep them together. Apply a strip of Scor-Tape on the back of this group and attach to the cardstock piece.
  7. Tie a ribbon around the stem in a double knot.
  8. Insert calendar between the stem legs and place on your desk.
Give it a try. They would be cute favors at a party also.
