Pure Joy!!!

L

This is another layout using the retired paper pack, Miracle. The colors are Bamboo card stock base pages with Crystal Blue, Sweet Leaf and Chocolate.
There are a number of techniques and embellishments that are a part of these pages. They are as follows.
The stamp set that came in the Miracle WOTG kit has 2 stamps that the pin wheels were made from. these 2 stamps are like a background stamp design with small lines in each corner. You cut on all 4 lines for each one. Then you place a glue dot in the center of the square. Then you take a corner and bring it up to the center and adhere with the glue dot. You continue until all 4 corners have been adhered to the center. The 2 stamps were one large and one small giving you 2 different sized pinwheels. The finishing touch is taking a circle from one of the Kraft border strips and adding that to cover the 4 points in the center.
The Kraft Border strips have 50 in the package. I used a number of different strips. One I inked with chocolate ink and added it to a scalloped non inked strip. I took another style and threaded a 1/8" piece of Heavenly Blue card stock through the holes in it. here are many different treatments that can be done to the Kraft Borders.
Another technique featured in these layouts is making a Faux Pleated Ribbon Accent using strips of card stock. I used 2 strips that were 1x12. Pleat with this interval--3/4, 1, 1 3/4, 2. 2 3/4, 3 etc. Adhere the 2 strips together. The other technique was dry embossing on the Desert sand pieces. The 4 x 12 strip I made lines at varying intervals on the back side. Turn over and sand the raised lines. The other area is the title block area. Only on this one I made the lines on the front side which results in debossed lines.
Finish it off with your pictures. Don't my 2 Grand kids look a lot alike? They are so Cute!!
Thanks for stopping  by. Leave me a comment.

Miracle Kit Layout #1

Now for the Miracle Kit Layouts. Here is the first set of pages. Besides the new chipboard resist product called Irresistibles this layout also uses the Flip Flap product. On the second page where the 2 4x6 pictures are is where the Flip Flaps are used. You flip them up and you have 4 more visible pictures. It is an excellent way to put a number of pictures on a page that you want to use but don't necessarily want separate layouts for each set of pictures. In the next layout you will see the Flip flaps used horizontally again putting multiple pictures on a page. I have added pictures showing the Flip Flaps opened so you can see what I am referring to. When you purchase them you get 15 4x6 Flip Flaps in a package. So they can be used in a number of layouts. They come with a self adhesive strip too so nothing but the pictures need to be added. I will be back tomorrow with the second layout.

Here is the page shown above but with the flip flaps opened. I cut a slit in the page protector so they can be seen as someone is looking through the album. The chipboard circles on the lower corner is what holds the flaps in place.

The Final 3 Miracle kit cards

For the last 3 cards to show you from the Miracle Kit I will be showing you 4 1/2" Circle cards. I used the template from the Wishes How To Book to cut the circle cards.

A good way to mail these cards is in a CD Envelope. If mailed that way they will cost extra postage however. You can also fit them into some standard sized card envelopes. The envelope might be a bit larger but the postage will be a .44 stamp. Give some of them a try. They are fun to make.

Miracle Kit Cards

In May we had a special with a kit called the Miracle Kit.
I will be posting layouts I had made with one kit and first I  am going to show you 14 cards made from a second kit. The card patterns were from the Originals and Wishes How To Books.
I will show you a few each day until I get them all posted. By adding a few more pieces of card stock , bitty sparkles, ribbon, and a Just Blooms flower the 14 cards were able to be made.
Here are the first 3 cards

By using pieces of the Die Cuts in the kit, ribbon, buttons, brads, some bitty sparkles, a little stamping and the fun new product called Irresistibles you can put together beautiful, interesting and fun cards. The new Irresistibles are white chipboard with a resist design on each piece. In the first card the butterfly and the circles are pieces of these chipboard elements. The last card has another design from the package which are the leaves. In all cases you choose which color you want each piece to be and using a sponge ink the top and sides with the color of your choice. Wipe with the sponge to even out your color and to remove all ink from the resist areas. Voila! A beautifully colored piece of chipboard with a design showing through in white. You will see more of these in the cards to follow.
Supply list for all cards:
  1. Miracle Kit
  2. card stock--Colonial white, Bamboo, Sweet Leaf, Crystal Blue
  3. Inks-Olive, Desert sand, Heavenly blue, Twilight, Smokey Plum
