Christmas Gift card Holders
I have another one of my Christmas posts. I wanted to show you these two Gift card holders because although mine are Christmas oriented you can cut this same cut for any occasion. It was cut using the Cricut CTMH Artiste cartridge for all cuts.
The gift holder is on pg 56. I cut it at 4 3/4". Then I cut it again with a B&T paper from a retired Christmas paper I had and cut it apart layering it on the front and back and inside portions.
To decorate the front I used an image from the CTMH Oct SOTM. The ornament shape was cut from pg 79 at 3". I stamped the image on the cut with Olive ink and then applied Prism glitter. I don't know if it shows up in the picture but it turned out really sparkly. I used the CTMH stamp set called "Christmas Joy" for the sentiment on the front.
I cut a rectangle for the inside to add the inside message from the CTMH stamp "Merry & Bright"
This one was for my Nephew.
This one was for my Niece.

Christmas Treats
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Now that it is over and all the rushing is done I hope to get back to posting more often and showing you all new projects and techniques along the way.
I wanted to show you a couple of projects I had made for my Christmas that I didn't get posted before Christmas. If you are still in the mode than you can make these for next year or just take a look.
The picture is of one of my table favors .Aren't they cute little snowmen? I scrap lifted this from the Internet. If I can find my notes and I have the site I will come back and post it. My room is still in chaos mode and until I get everything back I don't have my specific info handy. But quickly how these go together is like this. I took either a roll of life savors or 5 Rolo's as my inside so they would stand. I took a piece of White CS approx. 3 1/2" x 3 1/2". It will vary depending on what you use on the inside. My Rolo ones were a bit shorter than the Life savors. I took out one of my old CTMH stamp sets called "All Decked Out" and stamped with Heavenly Blue along the bottom with a snow swirl stamp. Then I used the face and the buttons and stamped them in Black. I used CTMH colored pencils and the water brush to color in the nose with Orange. To make the hat I bought some red glove mittens and cut off the thumb and fingers. Once you have a finger cut off take it and roll up the bottom a little to give it a rim. Then to finish off the hat attach a Glitter pom pom hot glued to the top of the hat. The last thing was to add a scarf. I took a variety of ribbons and tied them around. This picture was taken before I added the name tags. But I made very small tags and had each persons name on each of the snowmen for the table.
PS To get the hat on easily I took the snowman and held it against me and then pulled it right over the top.
The second project was also scrap lifted from one I had seen on the web. I changed it a bit to use the supplies I owned. I cut it using the Artiste Cricut cartridge. It is a Chocolate treat holder.
The cut for the holder is from pg 60 . It is a cut for a mini album but I made it into this treat holder. I used Cranberry CS for the base cut at 2 1/4".
To decorate the front I used an old pack of CTMH paper called Mistletoe and cut a piece 2.25" to add to the front.
Then I cut with white CS from the same pg 60 the Lacey frame at 2.25".
The last 2 cuts again from pg 60 were cut once in cranberry CS at 1.5" and once in white CS at 1.38".
I stamped with Cranberry ink "JOY" on the white piece.
Then I layered these and pop dotted them on top of the frame.
Lastly I punched some pine branches using the Martha Stewart punch in Garden Green and Olive CS. I put 4 of these together and added a twine bow on top.
Inside I attached some Ghiradelli squares.
To keep it closed but able to get inside without tearing it I used small hook and loop dots.

Christmas Ornament
Christmas Ornament
Here we go on how to put one of these together.
1. Cut 20 times shape E9+shift+3D object on page 79 at 3" with the Artiste cartridge. I then stamped all of these with the matching Ornament stamp from the Oct SOTM " Very Merry Christmas" using Cranberry ink.
2.The next layer I cut an ornament shape this time with the Art philosophy cartridge. It is on page 47 C7+shift at 2 1/2"cutting it 15 times. Then using a small stamp from the "Family Love" stamp and Olive ink I stamped it a number of times until I had completely covered the shape.
3. After all the shapes are stamped you score down the middle of each shape except for 5 of the 20 of of the first shape. These five are going to be the base to build the ornament on.
4. Then taking the remaining 15 shapes of the Cranberry shapes glue 3 of the shapes together. Do this with all the pieces making 5 groups total.
5. Do the same thing with the Olive shapes again putting 3 pieces together for one group and making a total of 5 groups.
6. Cut a 1" x 12" strip of B&T paper. Score every 1/2". Accordion fold and bring the ends together making a rosette.
7. Now to start putting it together take the 5 Cranberry ornaments that you haven't folded. take a 1 1/4' circle of CS and attach each of the ornaments with the stamped side facing down evenly around the circle. The sides of each ornament should touch.
8. Attach each of the 5 groups of Cranberry ornaments on top of #7. You are gluing on top of the non stamped side.
9. Now take Red tulle and cut some squares about 4 x 4. Put your finger in the center of the square and using the hot glue gun attach in between each ornament shape.
10. Cut 5 12" pieces of Hemp. Fold the piece of hemp in half and in half again and knot at at the end. Do this for each of the 5 pieces. Use the hot glue gun again and attach the knotted end in the center if each cranberry ornament.
11. Hot glue each Olive section in between each of the Cranberry sections standing them up somewhat. You need to hold them in place until the glue has set.
12. Add the Rosette to the center of the Ornament.
13. Glue a Bling button to the center of the Rosette. Add a large Pearl to the center of the Bling Button.
14. Add Pearls to the tips of the Olive Ornament sections.
15. Using the Crop -A-Dile cut a hole in the center of one tip of a Cranberry section. Cut a piece of seam binding ribbon and knot for your hanger.
16. Cut a 2 1/2" circle with White Daisy CS and stamp a sentiment with Black ink. I used a sentiment from C1510 Merry & Bright stamp set.
This picture shows the back side of the ornament.
Try making one of your own with the tools you have. You can make them any size using it as an ornament or a package topper instead of a traditional bow.

A start of my Christmas Cards
Well I finally got started making my Christmas Cards. I have two to show you now and will be back with more.
My first card was made using a Card Kit from CTMH. It is called the Pear & Partridge Card making Kit. It has a beautiful stamp set included along with the Pear & Partridge paper, some beautiful tan ribbon and red sparkle gems. I made mine just a bit different. I added some Prism Glitter to the ornaments. The colors used were Cranberry, Olive and Cocoa. It is a very simple card but I think stunning and elegant as well.
The second card is a Twisted Easel Card.
I used the same papers from the kit above. I stamped with Versamark a little deer from the stamp set "Warm Memories" and then embossed it with "Pirate's Gold" embossing powder. The ribbon is the CTMH seam binding ribbon and I colored it with Cranberry Re-inker. I love this ribbon because you can use it as it is or color it any color you want to match your project. I even got out one of my tools I haven't used in a while. You have some like that too , right?? I love this tool I just forget about it some times. It is my "Bow Easy". It makes the best bows ever. So I took it out and made a double bow to add above the oval with the deer in it.
I don't think it shows up in my picture but with this style of card you can put a Battery Tea Light behind the vellum part of he card and it lights up your image that is on the vellum. I want to make more of these with different images. You could have a tree, an angel, a small stocking etc. It is a fun change on the regular Easel Card. I also used the Apron Lace Fiskars Border Punch along the left edge of the Cashmere CS piece.
Hope you enjoyed these cards. Come back to see some more Christmas Cards over the following days and weeks.

A Pumpkin for your Thanksgiving Table
I am so sorry for the delay in getting some of my posts up in time for Thanksgiving. But I decided to post them anyway. If you like them you can save the idea for next year and be some what ahead of yourself. This project originated from http://inkspirations4u.ning.com/profile/MadelineMorcelo. Check her site out. When you are a member of her site you have access to the directions. I thought it was so cute and because it is larger in size it does work perfectly for your table centerpiece. It is big enough to have a presence but not to big to take up to much space.
I used the "Flirty" paper from CTMH. I also used the "Fall Harvest" stamp set also from CTMH.
I also want to show you another style of a pumpkin only this one is much smaller and can be used as a place card at the table. I am going to make these for next year. I used the same paper and the September SOTM called "Fall Favorites" for the leaves. The banner is where I will be writing each persons name. This is also a pattern from Madeline Morecelo.
This year for Thanksgiving I made some Favor boxes for each person. I used the Artiste Cricut cartridge to cut the pieces or the boxes. I used New England Ivy CS for the Scallop top and bottom and Barn Red CS for the box itself. To decorate the top I cut a 1 1/2" x 12" strip of Flirty B&T and scored it every 1/4" across the strip. Then accordion folded it and brought the ends together to make a Rosette. For the pumpkin on top of the Rosette I used the "So Grateful" stamp set. I added a leaf with a sparkle form the Brown & Tan assortment and made a bow with Chocolate Waxy Flax. To finish it off I stamped "Thanksgiving " on the banner using Barn Red ink. You could also use these as the place card and add the persons name on the banner instead of the word Thanksgiving. In my case I had some Turkey's I had made for the Place card so used my boxes as just favor boxes. I put some mixed nuts, a wrapped in B&T paper mini chocolate piece and some "Acorns" that I made in the boxes. The acorns are made using a Hershey Kiss, a mini Nutter Butter cookie and a Butterscotch chip. They are so easy to do. You melt a few of the Hershey Kisses to use to put each part together. The Hershey Kiss goes on the bottom, spread a little of the melted chocolate on the flat part of the kiss and add the Nutter Butter cookie. Let that set until solid. So I did all my pieces like this first. Once they are solid take the small Butterscotch morsel and add a little of the chocolate to the flat part of it and add to the top of the Nutter Butter cookie. So when you are done you have the butterscotch chip on top, then the cookie and then the Hershey Kiss.
Inside of the box.
My Turkeys and the completed Box.
For my Turkey's I added a small tag with each persons name on it and attached it to the side of the hat. I made them with the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge.

Singing Reindeer
Now isn't this just the cutest little Singng Reindeer you ever did see? Thanks so much to many talented crafters on the web. I saw it and just had to make one too. This is the link to one of the crafters I saw in my search. http://stampowl.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html She also has ather link on her blog that yo can see the basics of how to make a Pyramid Card.
You can also find this on Splitcoaststampers and Pininterest. It can made into a card too by adding a slit to insert the panel instead of gluing them all . That way it can be folded to mail. I made mine as a decorative element to place in my home when I get all my Christmas decorations out.
I plan on making some more Reindeers to join the choir. Wouldn't that be cute to have a little choir?
Thanks for stopping by.

Scarecrow Basket
As you can see I am well into making different Fall and Halloween Projects this year. Here is another one I am calling my Scarecrow Basket.
I really liked the Sept. CTMH SOTM stamps set. It is called Fall Favorites. A Scarecrow is one of the stamps you get in this set.
I used a combination of tools to color my scarecrow. I first stamped him with the Saddle Pigment ink. I let that dry before coloring or you can heat gun it . I stamped it on a piece of Colonial White CS
3 1/2 x 4 1/2. I matted it with Barn Red CS cut at 3 3/4 x 4 3/4. These two CS pieces were inked with Cocoa ink. I used the alcohol markers, watercolor pencils and the waterbrush. The pumpkins were cut with the Art Philosophy cartridge and leaves were made with the Artiste cartridge.
I made the tag "pick o the patch" I cut a 3" scallop circle from Barn Red CS and Olivia B&T paper. I also cut a 2 1/2" circle from Colonial White CS. Ink all of these pieces with Cocoa ink. All cuts were from the Art Philosophy cartridge. I stamped the image on the Colonial White circle using Cocoa ink. Then using the watercolor pencils and waterbrush I colored the image. I layered the two 3" Scallop circles together with the Barn Red CS on the bottom and added the image on top.
*(I added the Barn Red CS to give some stability to this piece.)
To make the pumpkins I cut both 3" scallop circles and 2" scallop circles to get the small and large pumpkins with Sunset CS and button C1 with the Art Philosophy cartridge. To give them a little dimension I stamped a leaf and vine image from the stamps called "The Present" with Sunset ink. I made each pumpkin with 8 scallop circles.I folded each one of them in half. While still folded glue all of them together one by one ending up with a stack. Before closing the last two ends I inserted the stems of my leaves. The leaves were cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge using button B4 cut at 1.5" and 1.75" and Ne England Ivy CS. I stamped the matching leaf image from one of the stamp sets that came with the Art Philosophy cartridge with New England Ivy ink and used Cocoa ink o the edges.
I found a metal container in my stash that I thought would look good for putting all my pieces in. I put some filler in the bottom first. Then I took a few different green CS pieces and ran them through the paper crimper. Then I took my Martha Stewart fringe scissors to cut them all apart. I used that across the top of my container. To place the Scarecrow and tag images in the basket I used Bamboo sticks. I attached one to the back of each piece and cut another Barn Red CS piece to cover the stick. I cut a 1 1/2 x 4 3/4 strip for the back of the Scarecrow and a 1 1/4 x 2 for the tag. I inked the edges with Barn Red ink and folded them in half. hen I took Scor Tape and adhered them over the stick on the back of these two pieces. That gave it a completely finished look from all sides of the basket. Finally to finish it off I took some of the Burlap ribbon and tied it around the container with a bow at the front and added some spirals to the leaves. I took some chocolate waxy flax and wrapped it around a pencil to make my spirals. The waxy flax holds the spirals nicely.
I think it looks really nice with my Fall Banner that I posted earlier. What do you think?
*( I have a supply list at the bottom of this post) I hope you enjoy this project and give it a try with the items you have in your craft room.

The vellum votive covers shown in the picture were made years ago with a wooden Halloween CTMH stamp set. I had stamped the images with Smokey Plum ink on the vellum strip. Then took markers and colored the images from the back side. That way from the front it is a sutle coloring and when the votive is lit you see the image beautifully. Maybe next year I will have time to make some new ones to add to my Halloween and Fall decorations.

Fall Harvest Banner
To add to my Fall and Halloween home decorations I wanted to make the Harvest Banner that was pictured in the Autumn/Winter Idea Book 2012 for CTMH.
In making this banner I used some of the new Alcohol markers from CTMH. I colored the leaves with the markers. They work so smoothly when coloring in a stamped image. The markers come in a two pack. One maker is the base color and the second marker will be a lighter or darker shade of the base color. You get some built in shading right away using both markers. Before using the markers I stamped all the images in Cocoa Pigment ink. Using Pigment ink is the only ink that will not run when coloring with the markers. Although you because Pigment ink takes a while to dry you either need to use a heat gun to dry the image or let it air dry before coloring.

Countdown To Halloween
Today to start the month of October I have a Countdown to Halloween project. It was made by using two 3 x 3 chipboard blocks for the base. Again I used the Moonlight paper pack to decorate each block. Add a few Halloween brads,Glitter, Chipboard numbers, stamping, embossing and voila finished cubes to Countdown to Halloween.
I took a few pictures of the different sides of each block. You just turn the blocks each day to reflect the number of days until Halloween remains.
Try making a set of your own. They were lot's of fun and can be decorated in so many ways.
Thanks for stopping by. See you next time.

Cofffin Treat Boxes
Tomorrow is Oct 1st already!!! Can you believe it? Halloween will be here before we know it. So I decided I better get crafting on some more Halloween projects. I have a couple more to show you. Today I have the Coffin Treat Boxes. One version I made is shown on pg 70 of the CTMH Autumn/Winter Idea Book. It was cut with the Artiste Cricut Cartridge at 7.5". Because it is one of the cuts on that cartridge of course you can cut it big or small or anywhere in between. The second one I will show you is smaller at 5.5".
This is the 7.5" one made with Kraft card stock. I used the Halloween stamp "All Hallows Eve" to stamp a background image , a spider web, and spider.I did a tone on tone look for the background image using Desert Sand as my ink color. Then I used versamark ink and black embossing powder on the web. Next I added the spider adding a black sparkle for his body. Finish it off with a little Twine and a banner and you are all set.
For the second one I used paper from the Moonlight paper pack. It has cute little owls on it. For this one I chose to decorate with other cuts from the Artiste Cartridge. There is one page that has a different Halloween image on each button under the same key. So I did the "Spooky" word, RIP tombstone, web border, tag and skeleton. The label that the "Spooky "is on is the same cartridge but different key. There are so many good images on the Artiste cartridge. It is so much fun.
Come back tomorrow for a "Countdown to Halloween Project.
Thanks for stopping by.

Baby Projects
Here is a picture of the back showing the screws that work as the stand for the clipboard.
Now it's time to embellish ! Along the top of the photo frame section I put a row of Colonial White Roses. They are the daintest and sweetist ribbon! They are in the new catalog from CTMH. I used two paper flowers also from my older stash of CTMH stuff and a glittered misc. flower and layered them together. I threaded a button to secure all the flowers together. Lastly I added a resin piece that says "precious" The tab on the right edge of the photo frame is to add her name and date of her birth.
The next project is a wallhanging for the baby's room. This is the left side. The background paper is from CTMH's Dakota paper pack. I adhered it to a 12 x12 piece of chipboard for stability. For the different circles I used papers from Flirty, La BelleVie, and Avonlea. I chose to decorate some circles, add pictures to others and use the rest for the stats about the newborn.
On the right side there is a space for a 4 x 6 photo long with a journaling area that the new Mom can write her story about the day of her baby's birth. The journal area is removable. I made a channel for it to reside in.
This shows both pages together. Before adding the paper to the back of each page I made the ribbon hanger. A few final embellishments to add some sparkle and feminity and it is complete.
Thanks for stopping by. See you next time.

More Halloween with Moonlight
I am really lovng the Moonlight Paper Pack from CTMH for Halloween laouts etc this year. I am trying to have a couple of layouts ready to just add pictures when the Halloween celebration comes around next month. I posted one a few days ago and Ihave another today for you.
This one uses a couple of techniques. One is a stamping technique called "Swiping". I used that on the "BOO" title and on the "Beware" sign. Take your stamp and ink it up normally but then before you stamp take it and swipe it across the ink pad from left to right. Now stamp your image. You get a really different look to your image. I have a close up picture for you here.
The next technique I used was with the spray pen. I mixed rubbing alcohol and colonial white re-inker together in my spray pen. Then I sprayed intermittently over the Black CS base pages. My goal was to give it a "smokey" "eerie" look. What do you think? I also used the edge distress tool to rough up the base page edges and title edges. Here is a close-up of the spray pen look.
Lastly I did some stamping, added some blingwith black & grey sparkles and some brads from the Haunted Assortment collection. Popped up the photo mats and title and journaling blocks for a little dimension. All products from CTMH. Here is the complete layout.
This layout holds two 4 x 6 photos on each page. One goes on the smokey plum photo mat and the other goes in the black space.
Thanks for stopping by. See you next time.

Moonlight and Halloween....
I was hoping I could be ahead of some of the holidays this year by having some layouts, Home Dec items and treat boxes ready to go before the Halloween Holiday happens instead of long afterwards. So with Halloween sneaking up on us I thought I better get started. My first project is a quick and simple but I think very cute layout. I am also going to make a Home Dec project and a treat box type project in the next couple of weeks so I will be back with those.
Here is my layout using the Moonlight paper pack and the Dimensional Elements that go with the Moonlight collection. The colors are Smokey Plum. Slate, Sweet Leaf and Black. The papers were all inked with Smokey Plum ink. Along with the Dimensional Elements I also used Black sparkles between the pennants. The left page has room for three 4 1/2 x 3 1/2 photos. The right page is a 4 x6 photo and journal strips to the left of the Haunted House Dimensional Element.
I love the papers in this Moonlight pack. The colors are so perfect for Halloween and yet they can be used for masculine cards etc and much more. Most all of the CTMH papers can be used in a number of different layouts etc.
Thanks for stopping by. Any questions let me know. See you next time.

All Aboard The Birthday Train
Our little Grandson turned 2 years old recently. So of course I had to make him a card. He is really into trains and the Dinosaur Train right now. So I got out some of my cartridges to put a card together for him. I couldn't find a dinosaur in my cartridges to put in my train but I did find a lion. ROAR!!! I used the Animal Cookies paper (Retired) from CTMH because of it's bright coloring. I used a swirl stamp to make the smoke coming out of the stack. I paper pieced the train and the lion to give the dimension between all the pieces. I took an alphabet stamp to make my title and for the number two in the trains window. I added Prism Glitter to the number two and the lions birthday hat. On the inside I cricut cut "Happy Birthday" and layered that as well with the blue and yellow colors. My picture of that came out blurry so didn't post it here.

I've Been Organizing.......
Beginning August 1 2012 CTMH had a new Idea Book launch. I wanted to be able to keep a record of products I own both stamps and everything else. So I made one book to log any stamps I already own and room for ones I hope to own. I made a second book that lists all the papers, ribbons, brads, chipboard's, rub ons, tools, etc. In other words everything else you can think of.
The picture below is my Supplies Book.
These show a couple of my inside pages. The view on the left are where I mark the inks, markers, card stock, and re-inkers I own. I added a card stock circle for each of the colors. That gives me a quick visual of the color when I am looking for one to match what I am working on. The view on the right shows all the different tabs I have throughout the book. I used my Dymo label maker to identify each tab. Some of the tabs I have are Organization products, ribbons, albums, glues, embellishments, Dimensional Elements, My Creations chipboard etc.
The second book below is the book to record the stamps I own.
I again used mostly CTMH products unless stated otherwise. I used the Caprice papers to cover this book. I added a Kraft border strip that I inked with Crystal Blue ink first The flowers are misc from my stash with buttons from CTMH. The label was made from a Milepost shape. It is corrugated on one side and smooth on the other. I used the smooth side and stamped "My Stamps" with Cocoa ink. Again it was bound with the Bind-It-All.

This is a view of the inside. I put in tabs from A_Z and record my stamps alphabetically. I also used a separate tab for Alphabets which I put in first.

The next picture shows all the tabs and my listing on one of the tabs.
The next book I have to go along with my stamp book is an old photo album that I have 3 x 5 pictures of each of my stamps. Again it is in the same alphabetical order. I log everything in this book except for Christmas/Holiday which are in a smaller book of there own. I also have tabs dividing it in alphabetical order A-Z. It matches the written version of my system. The last part to my system is that I store my stamps in large drawers of a chest I have in my scraproom. I didn't think to add a picture of that here. But it has the alphabetical dividers and all the stamps are in the same order as the books. So if I am working on a project and have something in mind I can flip through my picture book of my stamps and look for the image I want. The name is recorded there as well so I can to my drawers and find it easily. The written part of the book helps both in knowing what I have so I don't buy it again lol.
