Christmas Ornament
Here we go on how to put one of these together.
1. Cut 20 times shape E9+shift+3D object on page 79 at 3" with the Artiste cartridge. I then stamped all of these with the matching Ornament stamp from the Oct SOTM " Very Merry Christmas" using Cranberry ink.
2.The next layer I cut an ornament shape this time with the Art philosophy cartridge. It is on page 47 C7+shift at 2 1/2"cutting it 15 times. Then using a small stamp from the "Family Love" stamp and Olive ink I stamped it a number of times until I had completely covered the shape.
3. After all the shapes are stamped you score down the middle of each shape except for 5 of the 20 of of the first shape. These five are going to be the base to build the ornament on.
4. Then taking the remaining 15 shapes of the Cranberry shapes glue 3 of the shapes together. Do this with all the pieces making 5 groups total.
5. Do the same thing with the Olive shapes again putting 3 pieces together for one group and making a total of 5 groups.
6. Cut a 1" x 12" strip of B&T paper. Score every 1/2". Accordion fold and bring the ends together making a rosette.
7. Now to start putting it together take the 5 Cranberry ornaments that you haven't folded. take a 1 1/4' circle of CS and attach each of the ornaments with the stamped side facing down evenly around the circle. The sides of each ornament should touch.
8. Attach each of the 5 groups of Cranberry ornaments on top of #7. You are gluing on top of the non stamped side.
9. Now take Red tulle and cut some squares about 4 x 4. Put your finger in the center of the square and using the hot glue gun attach in between each ornament shape.
10. Cut 5 12" pieces of Hemp. Fold the piece of hemp in half and in half again and knot at at the end. Do this for each of the 5 pieces. Use the hot glue gun again and attach the knotted end in the center if each cranberry ornament.
11. Hot glue each Olive section in between each of the Cranberry sections standing them up somewhat. You need to hold them in place until the glue has set.
12. Add the Rosette to the center of the Ornament.
13. Glue a Bling button to the center of the Rosette. Add a large Pearl to the center of the Bling Button.
14. Add Pearls to the tips of the Olive Ornament sections.
15. Using the Crop -A-Dile cut a hole in the center of one tip of a Cranberry section. Cut a piece of seam binding ribbon and knot for your hanger.
16. Cut a 2 1/2" circle with White Daisy CS and stamp a sentiment with Black ink. I used a sentiment from C1510 Merry & Bright stamp set.
This picture shows the back side of the ornament.
Try making one of your own with the tools you have. You can make them any size using it as an ornament or a package topper instead of a traditional bow.
