Baby Projects

I needed to get busy making some baby girl gifts. I wanted to make something that could be used in the baby's room and something for the parents to place on their desk. So the project above is the one that can be put  on a desk top or wherever you want it to stand. It is a mini clipboard that I converted into a frame for the baby's picture. Starting from the top this is how it came together. I tied a number of pink and green ribbons in the clip at the very top. On the clip itself I took a Rub On from my stash that says "LOVE" and added that to the front of the clip. Then  I used the Lucy paper pack from CTMH for my main piece that  I covered the clipboard with and the strip under the clip and the frame for the photo. I used a Martha Stewart border punch for the lower edge to decorate it a little and I took a Fiskars border punch to make the scallop piece at the top of the base piece. I also added a section from the zip strip that comes at the top of the papers from CTMH for a bit more decoration. At the bottom of the clipboard I drilled two holes with my Fiskars Craft Drill. I put in two fairly long screws and added a nut at the back to secure it tightly in place. Then I placed two ribbons across the lower both to hide the tops of the screws and for decoration.
Here is a picture of the back showing the screws that work as the stand for the clipboard.

Now it's time to embellish ! Along the top of the photo frame section I put a row of Colonial White Roses. They are the daintest and sweetist ribbon! They are in the new catalog from CTMH. I used two paper flowers also from my older stash of CTMH stuff and a glittered misc. flower and layered them together. I threaded a button to secure all the flowers together. Lastly I added a resin piece that says "precious" The tab on the right edge of the photo frame is to add her name and date of her birth.

The next project is a wallhanging for the baby's room. This is the left side. The background paper is from CTMH's Dakota paper pack. I adhered it to a 12 x12 piece of chipboard for stability. For the different circles I used papers from Flirty, La BelleVie, and Avonlea. I chose to decorate some circles, add pictures to others and use the rest for the stats about the newborn.
On the right side there is a space for a 4 x 6 photo long with a journaling area that the new Mom can write her story about the day of her baby's birth. The journal area is removable. I made a channel for it to reside in.
This shows both pages together. Before adding the paper to the back of each page I made the ribbon hanger. A few final embellishments to add some sparkle and feminity and it is complete.

Thanks for stopping by. See you next time.
