First I want to say I am sorry for the delay in posts. Life got in the way and I am back with some things I have done previously and will be doing. Thank you for hanging in there with me. I appreciate so much.
So on to today's project. In the last idea book for CTMH they had a beautiful paper called Skylark. I am featuring what was the WOTG layout today and will have a number of more layouts I did with the same paper and embellishments. I wanted to see just how many projects I could do with one paper pack.
I also have been making some box cards. They will also be in some upcoming posts. I am having so much fun making them and learning more about my new Cricut Explore machine.
This was a fun and quick to put together layout. It used some Slate twist ties in a cute way. I hadn't used these yet and adding them to the photo and embellishment area shows 2 unique and interesting ways of using them. This layout uses the B&T paper for the base pages. It is printed as though the elements seen in the upper left corner of the left page were stamped or added to the paper. To conserve this paper and be able to use it in another layout I had planned I did the trick of cutting from behind the lagoon cs. I was able to get 2 9 3/4 x 9 3/4 squares by doing this to both papers. When you have a design such as this one where there is a good amount that is covering the paper behind it. It only needed the strip along the left side and top on the left page and the top and right side on the right page to show. So it was a really good design to use this little trick on. I left enough so the papers on top had something to hang onto. I also added a col.white cs base behind all the B&T papers to give it stability for my cutting such a big section away from the page. You can use any cs for the base when you have this kind of design.
In addition I also added some of the Skylark embellishments along with some stamping. I stamped the heart and sentiment on scrap white daisy cs and cut them out. Then attach with opo dots for more dimension. I also stamped the large heart on the white dovetailed piece to give it a bit more depth when the cut out heart was attached.
Thanks for stopping by.
See you next time with another Skylark layout.
