Today I have another card I made for a Friend who is having a Birthday. She is a long time friend who is also a crafter. I hope this one makes her smile. Let's get started...
I used CTMH products and it is a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" card.
1. The card base is Colonial White CS cut at 8 1/2" x 4 1/4" and scored at 4 1/4".
2. The next piece is a B&T paper from the paper pack Passages. It is a subtle background with handwriting tone on tone. This piece is cut at 4 x 4. Attach it to the card front.
3. The next piece is cut at 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 from a piece of Petal CS. Don't adhere this down yet though.
4. The next piece is a Colonial White CS cut at 3 x 3 and random stamped with Bamboo Ink. I used a number of stamps from the set C1408 Live Inspired and bamboo ink to random stamp covering the entire piece. Then I stamped in Petal ink the butterfly from D1452 Find Your Style on top of the random stamping. I stamped another butterfly using Petal ink on a scrap piece of Colonial White CS and cut it out. When I cut it out I didn't cut the antennae with it. To finish this butterfly I stamped over it using a Glue Pad and sprinkled on Prism Glitter. Take the cut out butterfly and bend the wings up. Take some foam tape and place it under the wings. Use tape runner down the center portion of the Butterfly. Adhere it over the stamped image lining it up to the antennae. You get a shadow effect with this technique. This whole piece can be adhered to the Petal CS and set aside.
5. Using another scrap of Colonial White CS and the tag stamp from the set D1378 Notice the Details. This is the little tag at the top of the card. Stamp it using Petal Ink. Cut it out around the curve edge at the top but leaving about 1/4" at the bottom edge so it can be inserted under the Petal CS piece. Ink the top edge with Petal Ink.
6. On this same tag using Cocoa Ink and the stamp set D1303 Classmate Alphabet, stamp the word "Kindness" or any other word you want. Attach it under the Petal CS at the top right. Now attach this whole piece to the card front centering it on the "word" B&T paper.
I used real soft subtle colors but you could make this using a bold color like Cranberry and have an entirely different look.
