There are times unfortunately when we have a loss of someone in our life. I made this card for that occasion. I had this happen recently and wanted to express my prayers and thoughts to the family. So I put this card together to send to them. I wanted it to be a peaceful and soothing card. I hope I succeeded with this one.
I used all CTMH products. This is how I put this card together.
I used papers from a Retired paper pack called It's A Guy Thing. It had the colors and patterns I was wanting to use.
1. I added a 3 1/2" x 7 piece of Cocoa card Stock that I dry embossed using my scoring board. I made my first line at 1/4" , then went over 1/2" scored again, go 1/4" and score, go 1/4" and score go 1/2" and score etc across the entire piece. It is a pattern of 1/2" spaces between 1/4" score lines.
2. Make the panel on the right side of the card by cutting 1 1/2" x 1 3/4" pieces. Two from a stripe B&T and two from the Olive B&T.
3. Ink all the papers edges with Cocoa ink.
4.Now start by attaching the Cocoa CS flush with the left side.
5. Add the little pieces flush to the right side and butted up against the Cocoa CS. Place them alternating papers.
6. Cut a 1" x 3" piece from another B&T paper. I used my corner rounder on the upper left and lower right of this piece and inked the edges in Cocoa ink. Then I took a Pewter photo hanger and attached one at the upper edge and lower edge centered. Add this over the seam of the papers centering it from top to bottom by attaching the Natural colored Hemp to each loop end of the Photo Hangers. I tied a knot about 1/2" down and wrapped it around to the inside of the card. I then covered the inside with another paper to cover the hemp from showing on the inside. This part is up to you. You can leave it showing or cover it.
7. The stamp came from the set called "Blessed". I stamped it on a piece of Colonial White CS with the solid stamp first in Olive Ink. Then take the outline stamp using Cocoa ink over top of the previous stamp. I used the corner rounder again only this time I did the upper right and lower left. I finished this piece with inking the edges with Cocoa Ink.
8.The last part was making the journal strips for my saying. I used the Tiny Typewriter alphabet set and stamped out "Wishing your heart Peace". I cut them apart, inked the edges with Cocoa Ink and added a Pewter brad to the left side of each strip. I attached them staggering them on the lower left of the card.
9. Add your inside sentiment or note and you're done.
Thanks for stopping by. See you next time.
