Easter Cards

I am trying to get a few Easter cards done to send out. My time is getting shorter and shorter. I hope I get all that I wanted to done and sent. We will see how I do. So today I have two cards for you.

They are basically the same but there is just a small variation between them. I used the Hardwood stamp from StampIn Up, the Brushstrokes stamp from CTMH and inks from CTMH.

First I stamped the Hardwood stamp with Desert Sand ink on Kraft CS. Then I cut two 5/8" strips for each card. Of the two strips I made one 4 1/2" long and the other 3 1/2" long. I didn't have a punch to give the ends a jagged edge so I just cut by hand my ends on both strips. Then I inked the edges with Desert Sand ink. I set these aside and started working on the card front. I used daubers and two blues for the sky and the Brushstrokes stamp with Olive ink for the grass along with a dauber. After getting the background to look like I wanted them to I took a stamp from the CTMH set called Kaboom and stamped in the center top using Heavenly Blue ink(retired). I used it for rays of sun. I didn't have a Sun stamp so I had to improvise the best I could with what I have. It may not show up in the pictures but you can see it in real life. It is very sutle. Now back to the strips. I crossed the shorter one over the long one about 1" down from the top and adhered the two together. Then taking a very small round circle stamp, I used one from the CTMH Hit the Spot(retired). But you can use any flower center or any small dot from a variety of different stamp sets for this. Once you have your small dot ink with Chocolate ink and make "nail" heads on each end of all the strips.

Now here is where there is a change between the cards. On one I took a piece of brown satin ribbon and draped it over the cross. I added pop dots to the back of the cross and placed it on the center of the card. I used a small "Happy Easter" stamp from the CTMH Spring Critters stamp set and stamped it on a small strip of white Daisy CS using Slate ink. I cut it with a dove tail on the left edge and adhered it to the bottom right of the card.
The second card I made the same "Happy Easter" except I dove tailed both ends. I also gave the banner a curve up on the ends and pushed the center up. A little hard to describe. lol Set aside for now. Next stamp the wreath from CTMH Remarkable Wreath stamp in Desert Sand ink. Then I took the flower overlay stamp in the set and stamped first in Glacier ink and then offset it a little and stamped again in Canary ink. I hand cut the wreath out and slipped it over the cross. Add some pop dots to the back of the cross and add to the center of the card. Attach the banner at an angle across the center opening of the wreath.  I stamped a greeting in the inside of both cards using two different Psalms from the stamp set B1428 Look to the Light
Thanks for stopping by.
