I'm going to be.... (update)

I'm going to be a Grandma again!!!! We are so excited. So of course I had to make a card to congratulate my daughter and son-in-law. I haven't sent it yet so I hope they don't see it before it gets to them. I just couldn't wait to show you though. It is a card and diaper bag set.  I hope using the colors and sweet pea paper makes it generic enough. They are waiting until the birth of this little one to find out if it is a boy or girl. I agree that is the best way to go too. The excitement and surprise is like nothing else.
Here are a couple of pictures showing each item separately.
This is the Diaper Bag.

Here's the card. It is supposed to be a Onsie. What do you think?  This was done using my Cricut Expressions Machine and a Design file I found on Custom Crops. It is so much fun putting designs together from different cartridges. Someday I hope to be able to do just that. For now I am grateful there are so many talented people out there that like to share their files. Three cartridges were used to make this. New Arrival, George and Storybook.

Here is another version making it a bit more generic when the sex is not known.

This card was made without the Cricut  using a 1 3/8th punch and a 2" scallop punch.  Start with  a card cut at 11 x 4 1/4. Score at shoulders which is 5 1/2.
Punch using the 1 3/8" punch a neck by going halfway in. (sorry the punch is upside down)

Place the card in at the halfway point for the neck and for the legs place it as shown in the picture.

Make your sleeves by placing the fold at 1 3/4 and cut in 1/2" on both sides. Then draw a diagonal line from the top of the leg to the sleeve cut.

Make the scallop trim by first punching in halfway with the 1 3/8" in the color of your choice. Then take the scallop punch and center around your half circle. Do this 3 times.

Cut a 1/4" x 1 3/4" strip for the sleeve trim. Score the bottom on the back side at 1/2" on the front. Put in 3 button brads in this scored section for the snaps.
I ran my front of the card through the Cuttlebug and the Dotted Swiss embossing folder. (I LOVE that Dotted Swiss folder.) I've seen these made in all different colors and they are cute as can be. I even saw a Hawaiian shower theme where the Moondoggie paper from CTMH was used to make these. Very CUTE!!!
Give it a try next time you need a baby shower or card .
