Christmas in July

I was determined to start my Christmas cards in July this year! Being it is July 1st today I am happy I got this far. You know how you always here Christmas in July?!  Well I had bought a svg file bundle called "More Christmas Box Cards" from www.svgcuts.com last year and was only able to make one of the cards in this file bundle.

So I was preparing for the craft days I have with a couple of friends during the months. In July we wanted to start our Christmas cards. So I got busy and made all 5 of the box cards from that file. I used the Home for Christmas paper pack by Kaiser Crafts along with textured card stock and a stamp set from that same line.

First I have the Front Door Card:

I used some bronze glitter paper for the lantern, sled and part of the skates. I also used silver card stock for the blades of the skates. To add some berries to the wreath I made dots with my Nuvo red glitter drops bottle. I made them on my craft sheet and let them dry. Then you can just peel them off and attach with glue dots or liquid glue to your project. I used the new Zots Bling glue dots. They are so tiny!! But they work really good for all those little gems. I think they turn out good. You can make any size you want and they automatically level out to a nice round top. I have a variety of colors and am excited to use them more often. I made some bows with stash ribbon and added some twine to the tag and sled. I stamped using the coordinating stamp set
Another view showing that the door opens.

Christmas Tree Box Card:

this one goes together a bit different but still easy to put together. I love the result of how each layer looks. I added both clear glitter gems and red glitter gems for my ornaments.

Stocking Box Card:

My favorite part of this card is the front of the stocking that ends up looking like a cable knit! I have a close up picture to show that part. I embossed my holly leaves, added green shimmer trim to one of the gifts wink if Stella to my candy canes  and white glitter paper for the cuff. To make the candy canes you draw red lines along the white candy cane and then with a red marker fill in two sections, skip one fill two etc. The key to making the box base is to use double sided card stock because you see the inside the way it is made

This picture shows the inside.
This picture is the close up of the cable knit look

Now I have the winter village box card:

This is beautiful made in almost all white with lot's of white glitter paper and a real pretty wood grain patterned card stock. Again I used the stamp set and added a twine red bow to the stamped wreath bottom.

The last card is the "Joy to the World" box card:

This has many glittered snowflakes and hearts along with bronze glitter paper for the word " world" . Some more pretty papers from the Home for Christmas pack and a pop of red card stock makes another beautiful card.

I really had fun making these cards and can't wait to send them when Christmas is near. Because they fold flat and are pretty much flat in the decorations they are easy to mail.

 Thanks for stopping by.

I hope you enjoyed your visit.
