Capture the Day

Today I have one more card from the left over papers from the Brushed paper pack. This one is also a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card but vertical this time.

I used the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge for the piece the sentiment is stamped on. Also A1165 Capture the Day stamp set was used for the sentiment and the butterfly. To further embellish I took a Black Journaling pen and did a doodling line and added a couple of staples with a mini stapler, For stamping my ink colors are Black, Canary and Pixie. The CS strip is Canary CS.  I finished it off with a couple of paper flowers and clear sparkles.

I used daubers and the Canary and Pixie inks to color the butterfly.  First had stamped it in Black ink. Then colored using the daubers. Finally  cut it out and add to the card with a pop dot.

Tweet Me

Well as you know after making a few layouts with a paper pack we often times have bits and pieces left over.  So I made a couple of cards. Today I have the " Tweet Me" card. It is a standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.
I used the pretty ombré colored B&T paper, Kraft CS, B1457 Tweet Me,black journaling pen, Z1926  Quatrefoil embossing folder, pear, pixie and desert sand inks and some paper flowers and clear sparkles to make this card.

All the stamping is from the Tweet Me stamp set. I embossed the Kraft CS piece with the Quatrefoil  embossing folder.  The bird was stamped right on one of the Brushed B&T papers. It gave the little bird a lot of texture just from the paper it was stamped on.  Using a blending pen and the inks I mentioned I colored the eggs, nest , branch and leaves.

I really like how this one turned out. I hope you do to.

Another Brushed layout

Today I have another layout using the Brushed paper, Lagoon Hearts Washi tape, D1627 Your Own Kind of Wonderful stamp set, Black, Pixie and Ruby inks, and some Aqua dots.

This is an easy layout to put together and is a beautiful result I think anyway.

To stamp the large butterfly I used the 2 step stamping technique. That is done when you have a solid image and a detailed stamp of the same shape.  Stamp first in your lighter color. In my case I stamped in Pixie. Then take the detailed stamp of the same image and stamp on top of your solid image. I used Ruby ink for this. Add some  pretty Washi tape and Aqua dots to further embellish and you have a beautiful layout ready for some pictures.

I hope you enjoy this one.

Brushed WOTG layout

I love the colors and designs in the Brushed paper pack from CTMH. They have the paper pack and an option of buying a workshop pack as well. This layout is from the workshop pack which includes a beautiful stamp set to.

It was a fun layout to make because it uses a couple different techniques to complete the layout. If you look closely one thing that was done was to cut one of the overlays from the CTMH Artbooking cartridge and use it as a stencil. I took a dauber with canary and pixie inks and made the diamond shapes. Also with the Artbooking cartridge the photo frames were cut. The title, butterflies, leaves and journal boxes were all stamped with the special stamp set included with this workshop kit. For the butterflies I inked the stamp with daubers and canary and pixie inks and then stamped on the Cricut butterflies. That is an easy way of getting more than one color on a stamped image.

To finish it off I embellished with the Brushed assortment flowers and some topiary striped washi tape.

Now I just need to get my pictures on and finish the journaling.

Swirly Heart Valentine Card

This was a fun card to make for that special Valentine. SVGCUTS has done it again. This card has 3 layers that make up the swirly heart portion. To the top layer I added some red glitter and then added pop dots before adding it to the card front. I also added glitter to two of the small hearts and popped them up too. This makes up a really special card. Products were from my stash again for the papers and embellishments.  It's a good feeling to get some of that older stuff used and make a nice looking project at the same time. Although I will say I do like being able to grab a complete paper pack that has coordinating papers etc.  That takes a lot less time for me to pick out what paper I want to use! But we have to use some of the stuff we've had for a while at some point to, right? !

Valentine Conversation Hearts Box Card

Today's project is a Valentine Conversation Heart box card. Again I used a SVG file from SVGCUTS. This file has 5 different Valentine themed box cards. Each one is as cute as the next one. I thought this would be a cute one for the kids because of the conversation heart candy that is so popular for this holiday.  This card works up really easily and fast. Add a little bling and you have a cute card.

Valentine Word Find

My friend that made the Valentines projects with me found this Valentine Word Find online. This was the quickest ever to put together. You print out the word find on either white or colored CS. Then I matted it to give it a little more sturdiness. Pick up some Valentine pencils and a little washi tape and you are all set. Just place a strip of washi tape around the pencil and attach it to the front of the card. This will be fun for the kids to do.

Lollipop Garden

A friend and I have been busy with making some cute Valentine projects for our little Grandkids.

Today I have another Valentine project from SVG CUTS. This is a Lollipop garden. The little ones can pick a "flower" from the garden and get a little treat. Depending on the papers you pick you can get different looks. My friend who made these Valentine projects with me used a green print for her box part that the Lollipops are sticking into and that gave the appearance of grass with the fence around. It went together easily. You make a box that covers a block of florist foam. Then add the fence around. To make the flowers the cut was all one piece and then you just wrap it around the lollipop and tie with a ribbon. We curled the edges back to give it more of the flower look. Lastly is the embellishing. That is always a fun part of the project. In this garden I made flowers in 3 different colors but you could make them all the same color for a solid garden of flowers. Many variations can be made. I think this will be a hit with the kids.

Valentine Mail Box

Well I have been busy and never did get all my Christmas projects posted. So because we are already approaching Valentine's Day I thought I would try to at least get the projects I made for Valentines Day for my Grandkids and get them posted over the next few days. lol

I am starting with a Mailbox. I have been trying to use from my stash of papers and embellishments so this mailbox is a combination of products. The project itself is a SVG file from www.svgcuts.com. I have fallen in love with my Cricut Explore and Svg Cuts! I think the file name for this is "For My Valentine".
I used some textured CS, some older Cloud 9 patterned papers, along with a heart embossing folder from CTMH and an older CTMH stamp set called Whoo's Your valentine .

It is a good size mailbox for a special treat or to hold all those Valentines the little ones get.
