Trim the tree Card

I am going to try and show some of the Christmas cards and layouts that I have been working on lately. My life has been crazy busy with all the Christmas Projects and gifts and decorating the house!! The time is flying by too! Hopefully I will complete everything on my list. lol

This card uses one of the new CTMH products. They are rhinestone Holiday shapes that match both a stamp set and Cricut cuts. So it is very quick to put such a beautiful card together. The stamp set has the size of the image and the page # where it is found in the Cricut handbook. So all you need to do is cut your images with the Art Philosophy cartridge then stamp the corresponding shapes with the Tim the tree stamp set. Lastly add the Holiday Shape around the outside of the stamped image. In this card both the trees and the star have the Holiday Shape attached to the stamped image.

Along the left side of this card I also used the stitching ruler and stitched a zigzag line using some grey floss. You could leave this step out though if you aren't a stitcher. You could stamp in that area from a stamp set tat has stitching images as another way of getting a similar look.

Finally using the Artbooking cartridge I cut the "Believe" using RDS and 1". This card is a great one for using all those scraps you have.

Thanks for stopping by. See you next time.

A couple more Christmas cards....

My first card is made using the Frosted Christmas paper form CTMH. The Artiste cartridge was used for the snowflakes and the image in the center of the card. I have a North Pole Christmas village from Dept 56 and when I saw the stamp set called Christmas Village I couldn't resist. I had to get it!! I used just one of the villages that came on that stamp set. I used Sweet Leaf, Crystal Blue and Crème Brulee alcohol markers to add some color and then popped it up. The snowflakes are layered and two are popped up and one is left flat. I finished it with a cream paper flower and some twine that was wrapped around the card and tied into a knot.

My next card was put together with the Sparkle and Shine paper pack, Mary & Babe stamp set and the Sparkle and Shine washi tape. I used alcohol markers to color Baby Jesus in the colors of Crystal Blue, and Honey. To give the skin color I tried using the water brush and Blush ink. I am still trying to learn how to color and have it look right. To add a little sparkle I stamped the star and added silver glitter. The silver designed Washi tape was put next to the B&T paper and I put a piece on some White Daisy CS and then trimmed the end for a banner.

I have some more Christmas Cards that I will be posting in the next few days.
Thanks for stopping by.
See you next time.

Its themed borders, overlays, photo mats, and more hold plenty of cheery possibilities to brighten your albums. Trim your trims, ornament your ornaments, and have a holly jolly time making Christmas layouts that last—all with just two keys!
A quick way of putting together some beautiful Christmas layouts.

Sparkle and Shine Christmas Cards

CTMH has a fun Christmas paper called Sparkle and Shine. I made these two cards using that paper and the Santa Claus stamp set. The colors are Whisper, Juniper, and Ruby. Plus of course adding some shimmer and bling with the red shimmer tape and clear sparkles. On the second card the front of the card was random stamped with two different snowflake stamps and whisper ink. Just adding a few strips of paper with that background and you have a beautiful card.

I have been busy as ever working on layouts , cards for Fall and Christmas ad Home Décor items. So stay tuned. I will try to get them all posted as soon as I can. I also have some more CTMH videos to post. They have some good info and beautiful projects.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you back.

Touch Of Fall

This card features the Petite Perks stamp set called Touch of Fall from CTMH. It goes perfectly with the Huntington paper pack. It was simply put together using a scallop border punch, Bronze shimmer trim and a couple of banners. This little stamp set has 4 small images and I put 3 of them on this card as the focal point. The acorn was stamped in Cocoa ink, the pumpkin in Autumn Terracotta and the leaf in Olive.

Gratitude Card

I just love this card!!! It was pictured on page 87 of the Autumn /Winter CTMH Idea Book 2013. I loved the colors and everything about it so I just had to give it a try in making it. The paper is from the Surf's Up paper pack and the Huntington paper pack along with Cocoa CS. Two stamp sets are used. Fall Harvest for the leaves and Always Grateful for the sentiment. The leaves were stamped first with cocoa pigment ink and then colored with the water brush and a variety of Fall colored inks. (I have a full supply list below.)
To give it some finishing touches I used some Opaque Mocha gems and the Burlap ribbon. But instead of using the Burlap ribbon as it comes I pulled strands out from it and them held them together and tied a bow. I also used a strand to hang the acorn. I still need some practice with my coloring but I was pretty happy how my leaves turned out. What do you think? Any suggestions are always welcome.

Thanks for stopping by!
See you next time.

Happy Autumn

Don't you just love the Huntington paper pack from CTMH?! It is such a beautiful line of paper. I made another layout using this paper adding the D1550 Happy Autumn stamp set too. All the stamped flower, leaves, sentiment and title were all from the Happy Autumn stamp set. Adding some bronze trim gave it a bit of sparkle to add even more texture. There were also a couple of Cricut cuts using the Artiste cartridge to make the title /sentiment are on the left page and the  journal area on the right page. To get the variation in colors on the stamped images I used the Rock -n-Roll technique adding a number of colors into each of the images. I can't wait to get some photos on this layout.
Hope you enjoyed this layout.

Another Halloween Treat box

Here is another Halloween treat box using a clear pillow box as the container for the goodies. Add a little B&T paper and Bronze Glitter trim to decorate the box. The Bronze Glitter Trim is adhesive backed and I pleated it to add to the edge of the B&T paper. It pleated so easily because of the adhesive back. The pleats stayed in place with each pleat made. Then I stamped  the Skeleton from the stamp set Creepy Creatures C1522 and the pumpkin and sentiment banner strips from B1413 Perfect Fit-Halloween. The first one was stamped using Cocoa ink and the second box I used Chocolate ink. Fill the box with the candy of your choice and you are set.

Huntington Layout #2

This is another Huntington Layout I made. There is a wood grain stamp that comes in the WOTG for this paper . I stamped with that stamp and the tone on tone technique on the top banner strip of each page.  Then the stamped leaves that are scattered on the lower left portion of the left page  were stamped with the Rock n Roll technique. I love using that technique especially when stamping leaves, it makes them more natural looking. Don't be afraid of trying the Rock-n-Roll technique. You really can't mess it up. To do Rock-n-Roll first you  stamp in one color and them roll the edges in a second darker color then stamp.

Birthday cards for the little ones

My first card is for our little Granddaughter who turned 1. I used the Chantilly paper pack and a retired stamp for the giraffe and stamping on the front of the card. The bow was made from the Chantilly fabric and cut from the CTMH Artiste Cartridge on pg 55.
My second card is for our little Grandson who turned 3!! He loves all trucks and cars so I just had to make him a card that shows his love of wheels!! lol  I used two stamps from the D1544 Distressed  background stamp set on the cardstocks. I love the texture it added. The stamp set D1541 Fast and Furious was used for the truck, sentiment, road and stop sign.
Thanks for stopping by!!

Halloween Treat Tube Projects

This is a 5 treat tube holder. It is a fun to make and looks good on your table for Halloween and/or as a gift. I used all CTMH products. The stamp sets are B1429 Eek & Shriek and C1509 Magic Potions. To jazz it up a little I glittered the cat with black glitter. DO you see the hexagon shapes in the front? They are a new product called Irresistibles. It is chipboard hexagon shapes with a resist pattern on them. When you ink them any color you want the resist pattern shows up. They come in multiple sizes and resist patterns. One other technique used was stamping with Colonial white pigment ink on black cardstock for the spooky look.

I also made up single treat tube holders. That was a different style of box and decorated simply with a strip of B&T paper around the middle. Add a tag and some candy and you have a cute gift or display item.
The next 2 pictures show a couple of areas in my home with some Fall and Halloween decorations. You can see the treat tube projects and some others I made last year. The Boo banner was from the Spellbound kit and cut with the Artiste Cricut cartridge. It uses almost all of the images with the Halloween key on pg 77 .If you use the letter and number method for finding the right keys it is E7+ Accent 1 for some of the banner shapes and E7 +shift+ Accent 1 for the other banner shapes, E7 and Shift for the "BOO" title. E7 and Accent 2 for the rosettes and E7 plus Shift plus 3D Object for scallop shapes on each banner front and for the spider webs E7 plus shift plus Accent 2.   The Harvest banner was also cut from the Artiste Cricut cartridge. The banner shape was the same E7 plus Accent 1and the zigzag strips were on pg 75 E5 plus Shift plus Accent2. The Font from this cartridge was used for the title. The cut out leafs were stamped using the stamp set C1504 Fall Harvest.
I made a small  leaf quilt hanging shown  in the center of the table too.

I hope you enjoyed these projects. Thanks for stopping by. I have some layouts and cards that will be coming in the following days.

Video on CTMH three cricut cartridges

Each one of the CTMH cartridges comes with 700 different images!! There is a Font and images. That alone makes them amazing. When deciding which one to get first that depends on what type of papercrafting you are doing at the moment. Each cartridge comes as a bundle with 3 stamp sets and 3 sheets of chipboard elements. So they are all of equal value.

Because as a suite of cartridges they pretty much cover all your papercrafting needs as the three contain 2,100 images all together that can be combined and resized to make just about anything your imagination can create!
Here is a brief description of each cartridge.

Art Philosophy - your one stop shop for all you foundational basic and iconic shapes, tags and card bases.  From acorns to snowflakes this one is chock full of 700 images that cover a range of papercrafting needs.

Artiste - if you are planning a party or like to give gifts in specialty wrapping this is the one for you.  I love the party hats, the gift boxes, cupcake wrappers and themed parties on this one and use it extensively now to decorate for any occasion.

Artbooking - The focus is on scrapbooking - both traditional 12x12 pages as well as themed mini-books.  The 700 images include photo mats, overlays, borders, icons, font and more.  Everything is size linked together to make scrapping a breeze but all can be used individually and sized for any type of project.

Now take a peek at the video for some more info.

Chantilly Workshop

As you know I love the Chantilly paper. So I made 4 more layouts. To make these 4 layouts it uses 1 complete pack of the Chantilly paper and a few cuts from some other CS papers. It is a good way to see how much can be done with just 1 pack of paper. The Cricut cuts for one of the layouts are using the Cricut Craft Room and the CTMH Artiste and Art Philosophy cartridges.  This was a project that Paige Dolecki put together and she offers a kit for sale . You can go to see her layouts HERE. Thank you Paige for all your directions and CCR file. I added just a few changes to each of the layouts. Three of the layouts I placed pictures from a number of years ago. lol  It was a trip to Brainerd Minnesota showing my daughter an attraction there called "Paul Bunyan Land". It felt good to get some of my older pictures on layouts and out of the box. I am going to try doing that a bit more in between the current photos. The fourth layout goes with the other Chantilly Layouts I made previously with more current pictures.

Layout #1
Layout #2
Layout #3

 Layout #4

I hope you enjoy these layouts. Thanks for stopping by.

See you next time.

Better Blending

Since CTMH started selling our new Alcohol markers you may wonder on just how to use them. This video gives you some tips on using and storing these new markers. Along with using the Alcohol lending pen. This video will help you get started or if you have already used them you may get a tip to add to your knowledge in working with these markers.

Personally I like using the Pigment Ink pads to stamp my images the best. Using the Pigment Ink pads also gives you a variety of colors so you don't always have to have black ink for your images. The Pigment Ink pads are 1" cubes in stacks of 10 colors in 4 different color groups. Give them a try and see what you think along with the Alcohol Markers.

Have fun playing with the Alcohol Markers and Alcohol Blending Pen.

Here is a video by CTMH on using the Cricut Craft Room. CTMH has two currently  great Cricut cartridges. One is Art Philosophy and the other is Artiste. On August 1st they will offer a third cartridge called Artbooking.  All 3 of these cartridges are jammed packed with images!!! They each have 700 different images. They are fantastic. To have even more fun use the Free Cricut Craft Room program to manipulate the images and add images together.
