Pure Joy!!!

L

This is another layout using the retired paper pack, Miracle. The colors are Bamboo card stock base pages with Crystal Blue, Sweet Leaf and Chocolate.
There are a number of techniques and embellishments that are a part of these pages. They are as follows.
The stamp set that came in the Miracle WOTG kit has 2 stamps that the pin wheels were made from. these 2 stamps are like a background stamp design with small lines in each corner. You cut on all 4 lines for each one. Then you place a glue dot in the center of the square. Then you take a corner and bring it up to the center and adhere with the glue dot. You continue until all 4 corners have been adhered to the center. The 2 stamps were one large and one small giving you 2 different sized pinwheels. The finishing touch is taking a circle from one of the Kraft border strips and adding that to cover the 4 points in the center.
The Kraft Border strips have 50 in the package. I used a number of different strips. One I inked with chocolate ink and added it to a scalloped non inked strip. I took another style and threaded a 1/8" piece of Heavenly Blue card stock through the holes in it. here are many different treatments that can be done to the Kraft Borders.
Another technique featured in these layouts is making a Faux Pleated Ribbon Accent using strips of card stock. I used 2 strips that were 1x12. Pleat with this interval--3/4, 1, 1 3/4, 2. 2 3/4, 3 etc. Adhere the 2 strips together. The other technique was dry embossing on the Desert sand pieces. The 4 x 12 strip I made lines at varying intervals on the back side. Turn over and sand the raised lines. The other area is the title block area. Only on this one I made the lines on the front side which results in debossed lines.
Finish it off with your pictures. Don't my 2 Grand kids look a lot alike? They are so Cute!!

Christmas Week 6

Posted by PicasaThis week I have another circle card from the Around the Holiday's card kit.
It was a fantastic kit because you got everything you needed to complete 12 cards with envelopes!! It came with the base circle card already distressed, 3 full sticker sheets, sheer chocolate dotted ribbon, pop dots and envelopes. This package is great for those quick and easy cards. But the result looks like it took much more time to make.
This one is in the Chocolate and Heavenly Blue colors.
The large center snowflake was pop dotted and I added  a Mocha Pearl to the center. I also placed another Mocha Pearl in the center of the sheer ribbon knot.
I have 2 more designs from this card kit that I will be showing you in the coming weeks.
Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Card Week 5

Posted by PicasaToday I have a Circle Christmas Card. This is one of 4 from a package I had called Around the Holiday's.
There aren't really instructions for this one because of it being a card kit. I did add a bit to what was provided though. I added Prisma Glitter to the Tree and Gift Package. Every Christmas card needs a little sparkle right??
Remember as always you can click on the picture to make it larger.
Hope you are enjoying these Christmas Cards and they are giving you a little bit of ideas anyway.
Thanks for stopping by. See you next time.

Oh No!! I've Been Caught...

I put together these layouts from CTMH's Miracle Paper line. It is a Retired line but as I mentioned previously I am trying to use up some of my stash. I love the colors in this kit. They are Sweet Leaf, Crystal Blue, Heavenly Blue and Honey. I put pictures of my Grandson having fun. The title Oh No I've been Caught is because in the second page you see him sitting in front of his Sister's bedroom door. He wants to go in and play with all her toys. After waiting patiently for the door to open he decided I am going to try to get in myself. Unfortunately he is not walking yet at this time and is also way to short to reach. His Mom sneaks up behind him and snaps the last picture. Hence the option Oh No I've Been Caught!! His expression is so cute!!
The techniques in this project were stamping on canvas buttons, stamping and cutting out the butterflies and making the flowers with the 1 1/4" circle punch. The circles were stamped first with Background stamps using the Honey ink. Then folded and put together finishing with a Glitter brad in the center. Here is a Tip if you don't have the right color Glitter brad already. I used a Garden Green brad and some Martha Stewart Glitter in a green color and a Twilight brad and again Martha Stewart  Glitter in a Blue color. I took a brad and put it in my Tweezer Bee Tweezers and dipped it in some Liquid Glass and then in the Glitter. Tap it off and set aside to dry. Do this with each brad you need covered. The Liquid Glass held the Glitter really well and saved the day. I made a 2x7 Journal box with Bamboo card Stock and ran it through my printer changing the color for it to print with to Chocolate. After placing all the papers down but before all the embellishments I stitched around each page on the 11 x 11 Sweet Leaf B&T piece 1/4" in from the edge. I used the new CTMH Ruler. WOW it really Rocks!! You can do zig zag, straight, horizontal lines etc. Plus it is 14" long and 2" wide. I used Colonial White floss from the Neutral package. The 1" wide ribbon is in the  Sweet Leaf color.
I hoe you enjoy this one. Come back tomorrow I will have another Christmas Card. See you then.

Beautiful Love

Today I wanted to share with you a layout I recently made using the beautiful papers from the Veranda Paper line. It is now Retired but I still have some and wanted to make some projects with it. I hope this picture shows all the detail in it. I had fun using some product I had bought but hadn't used much or not at all. I used Rub Ons both the regular style of Rub Ons and some Glitter Rub Ons. The stamp set is called One of a Kind. All the stamping on the right side of the page is from this stamp set. I stamped in Cocoa Ink. After the stamping was complete then I added all the Rub Ons. The Glitter Run Ons are done with the Gold Glitter sheet. So easy to do but very effective. These Glitter Rub On sheets are a really nice way of adding some Glitter without all the mess. If you haven't seen this type of Glitter Rub On this is how you use them. First you pick the design you want and cut it out of the sheet. Then you rub that on the page where you want it. his is the "glue" part of the process. Then you take the sheet of Glitter in the color you want to use. My package has Red, Gold and Silver Glitter sheets. In this layout I wanted the Gold color. You rub that over the design and Voila!! it is Glittered.  I sure hope CTMH comes out with some more of this product.

I also used some paper flowers in a Creme Brulee color. The quarter circle on the bottom right has a swirl regular Rub On along with the flowers and Filigree Charms and Bitty Sparkles. There are lot's of Bitty Sparkles amongst the stamped designs, on the Filigree Charms and at the two ends of the stitching along the borders. I inked the Filigree Charms with Timber Brown Staz-On ink to give them a deeper tone which went well with my layout colors.

You will notice that it is not completely done. I ran out of the ribbon slides so the thin strip you see sticking out past the page is where I will be adding another ribbon slide like the one shown above it. I also need to add the picture and make the corresponding page. So when I get the rest done I will be back to show you the completed 2 page layout.

I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for stopping by. Comments are always appreciated.
