Life is Fun...

Her is another Maybery paper layout. I hope you like it. It uses the canvas buttons, Color Ready Alphabet-Hodge Podge and Dimensional Elements for the word FUN. I inked all of the letters with Colonial White ink.

Note: when stamping on the canvas buttons ,ink your stamp very well then stamp firmly on thebutton and hold it there for the ink to absorb Before removing it rotate the image over the curved edges. You can stamp images or just sponge ink on them to make them a color of your choosing.

Life is Good

Today I have a layout using the Mayberry paper pack and putting together some Summer Fun.

The flower was fun and easy to make. Take your 1 1/4 circle punch and punch out 3 from one paper and 3 from another. Cut a 1 1/4" square to use as your base to build the flower on. With each circle fold two sides in to form a funnel. Do this for all 6 circles. Put glue on your base square. Now take 1 from each of your papers and glue the folded edge together back to back onto your base and continue gluing all of your pieces alternating as you go around in a circle. Now fold the sections down all in one direction as you move around your flower clockwise. To finish it off take a large canvas button and stamp a design on it. Peel off the backing on the canvas button and adhere to the flower center. Stamp a couple of leaves, cut out and adhere under your flower base. I hope this isn't to confusing to understand.

The title was done by using 3 different stamp sets and the 1 1/4" circle punch. I used the polka dot circle from Circle Together. From the set called Connections I used an open circle design. The last stamp set was from the Felicity kit. I used the alphabet from that one. I was trying to see if I could make the same look as the Token alphabet set with what I already had. I think it came out looking really nice. If you want to do it in one step then you can use the stamp set called Token Alphabet.

I have stacked my ink colors I used.

I have another layout using the same Mayberry papers and will try to post that soon.

Thanks for stopping by.

Summertime Card

Here is a fun bright Summertime card. It is the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card size. I used the papers from the CTMH paperpack called "Mayberry". It has the colors of Smoothie, Olive, Cocoa and Honey. I made the scalloped border by using the
1 1/4" circle punch and punching two 1 1/4" circles. Then cut them in half. Ink with cocoa the edges. Line them up overlapping slightly and voila you have a large scallop border. The other technique I wanted to share with you is stamping on Canvas buttons. I stamped the flower and leaves on a 1 1/4" Colonial White circle and placed it on a Cocoa square. Then to accent it further. I stamped the same flower and leaves but this time on a large canvas button. To stamp on these buttons ,also from CTMH, you ink up really good your stamp then carefully place it on the button and press firmly without moving. Without lifting stamp, rock image edges around to apply all areas of stamp to the curved surface of the button. Then lift the stamp straight up. You can stamp multiple stamps or one image over and over to cover the button entirely any number of options. The result is a watercolor and/or fabric look. To finish this card I also inked all my papers with cocoa and stamped the word Summertime.

The pieces were cut as follows. Starting from the top, the Olive B&T paper is 1 1/4 x 3 3/4, the Smoothie Cardstock is 1 1/2 x 2 3/4, next to it is a Honey B&T paper cut at 2 1/4 x 2 3/4 and the strip under these two pieces is 1 1/4 x 3 3/4. The cocoa square is 1 3/4 x 1 3/4. Ink all edges and place 1/4" in on all sides starting at the top with the Olive piece and continue down. Place your Cocoa square 1 1/4" up from the bottom and both sides. Stamp your sentiment on the Smoothie cardstock. Add canvas button to the right upper corner of the cocoa square and on the Honey B&T piece.

Supplies ( all CTMH unless noted)
1. Mayberry Level 2
2. Smoothie, Olive and Cocoa inks
3. 1 1/4" Circle Punch
4. Canvas Buttons
5. Mayberry stamp set

Have a Happy Day

I got out my Cherry-O papers from CTMH and put together a card for a friend of mine. I used the colors Sweet leaf, Tulip and Chocolate for the ink colors. The papers have these same colors and Crystal Blue also. The technique used was Second Generation stamping with a little Rock n Roll before stamping it on my project.

I'll be back with another card in a few days. Thanks for stopping by.
