Heart 2 Heart Challenge-Stitching

This week's Heart2Heart Challenge is stitching. It can be either real or Faux stitching. I just love to add stitching to my projects. I rarely have one that doesn't have some sort of stitching somewhere. So it was hard for me to choose. So I think I will use a layout with Real stitching and a card with Faux Stitching.

This layout uses stitching in ways other than the straight stitching or zigzag that I do quite a bit. I wanted to show that adding a trail for the butterfly with stitching and a few X's here and there add a dimensional touch to the project. My next example will be a Faux Stitching example on a 3x3 card.
Here on the Tulip Cardstock strip it looks like white stitches along the top and bottom edges. This is a really quick but effective way of having the look of stitches but done without thread or floss. This technique works great with the CTMH cardstock because of our white core. So you dry emboss a line on the back of your piece. Turn it over and sand to expose the white core and then pierce holes across the length. The result is a look of white thread stitching.  Give both ways a try. Stitching adds so much to a layout or card or any project and is easy to do with a sewing machine, by hand or even Faux.

Splendor clear cards

The first Clear card here has a ribbon weave technique along the side and making a half flower with the 1 1/4" circle punch. The clear cards are fun to have some of your design on the front and other parts inside. When first looking at it you aren't sure what is on the inside or the front.

Here is the second card. This one has some of the Dimensional Elements with the resist design on them. After you ink them the design shows up white. I also added the Stardust Glitter Glue around the front edge for a little sparkle.

Elegant with a bit of whimsy card

This is a 5 x 7 card from the Originals How To Book. Simply stated but with the Satin edged sheer ribbon you get a little elegance. The Splendor designer brad used at the center of the bow is a fabric brad. The top adds that bit of whimsy with the snail stamped and paper pieced and 2 smaller epoxy style brads form the same collection. The ink colors used are Moonstruck, Goldrush and Topiary. Come back again tomorrow for some clear cards using this beautiful paper line Splendor.

Splendor Hello Friend card

This is a  4 1/2 x 4 1/2 card from the Wishes How To Book.  The Splendor WOTG kit was used to make this fun summer card. The corner rounder was used to make the scallop edge. Stitching was done using Ecru floss. To make the half flower you use a 1 1/4 circle punch. It is a folding technique to achieve this look. I used the same 2 stamp sets that were used for the layouts also.  They are Hot Diggity and Over the Rainbow. The ink colors are Topiary and Goldrush using the Second Generation technique for the frog and rainbow. Here's a little tease. Come back tomorrow for another Hello Friend card. That's all I'll reveal today. See you tomorrow.

Summer fun Page 2

Here is the companion page to the Summer Fun layout posted yesterday using the Splendor WOTG kit.

I repeated many of the same techniques as used in the left page so they would work nicely together.
The supply list is the same except the  Irresistibles Pizzazz are used also. You can go Here to find these products.

Summer Fun

Here is a fun layout using the Splendor Workshop Kit. It has the colors of Topiary, Goldrush, Heavenly Blue and Moonstruck. This is the left page of a double page layout. I am doing this one and the second page in my Club Class in a couple of weeks. I always try to feature a technique or two to use in the layouts so I am teaching something to them each time we meet. This time I chose the Flower Embellishment which uses our new 1 1/4" circle punch and placing Rub Ons onto a picture. I used the Primaveria Rub On set and used the word "delight" on the picture. I also put a couple of small flower rub ons near the Butterfly. I have to say these Rub Ons are fantastic to use. They went on the picture very smoothly and easily. They release nicely from the carrier sheet too. I Love them!!!! I also used some embroidery floss and did a few stitches. The brads are all from the Splendor Designer Brad collection. It includes fabric brads, epoxy brads, with designs and solid colors. There is some stamping and paper tearing and rolling also. I will list the complete list of supplies below. Watch for the companion page tomorrow.

My love of the 3 x 3 card

I wanted to try the box pleat technique on my little 3 x 3 cards. I also wanted to use the Creative Basic Cherry-O papers. So this what I came up with. I also used the Stardust Glitter Glue to give it a little sparkle. The flower was stamped and cut out using the Aspiration stamp set.
I also did a little faux stitching. I have another example I will be posting tomorrow. Come back then and  I will describe in that post how to do this technique. Hope to see you then.

Something Splendid

This card is using the  August stamp of the Month called "Something Splendid" which is now available to purchase. It is a beautiful stamp set. I am showing only one small example using the small flower in making this 3x3 card. There is a beautiful large flower that has 2 parts to it that I will show at a later date in an example. I also have the Technique Faux Stitching on this card.
