"Dream"

Here is another of my 3x3 cards. I make a new one each month and give them away when someone places a CTMH order with me. I really enjoy making these cute little cards. This time I used the stamp set that is a Petite Perk called " Dream". It's a cute little set so I wanted to try it out.
I used the Veranda Level 2 paper pack, Cocoa ink and ribbon, chocolate waxy flax, some brown embroidery floss, and Tulip ink for the butterfly.
I wanted to also show you the little trick on making your bow look like it was tied on the ribbon strip but it really is placed on top with a glue dot.
Step 1 tie a piece of embroidery floss or thread around the ribbon strip where you want your bow to be.
Like this
Step 2  Take another piece of ribbon and tie either a knot like I did here or a bow. Step 3  Place a glue dot on the back and add it over the tied area of the ribbon.
This card has the techniques of edge distressing with ink, stitching a couple of areas in an "x", straight lines and a corner treatment, dimension with the pop dotted butterfly and the use of ribbon.
They are fun to make and the same card idea can be used to make the standard size card also.

Hot Diggity!!

My Husband has a birthday coming up in less than a week and so I wanted to show you all the card I made for him. He has built a pond in our backyard and likes to have frogs along with fish in the pond. So when I saw this new stamp set in the Summer catalog called "Hot Diggity" I couldn't resist.

Here is what I put together. Isn't that frog cute?! I used the Veranda Level 2 paper along with Juniper CS and White Daisy CS. I did a little stitching with Chocolate Waxy Flax, and used Cocoa ribbon and Sunny Yellow button to finish it off. I stamped the Frog once on the card and again to cut it out for a little dimension. I hope he likes it. Now I need to get his Father's Day Card done. I will be back with that when I'm done.

You Are Beautiful

Here is a 6 x 6 card made for my daughter's birthday. I used the Stamp Set "You Are Beautiful". It is a set with the solid stamps and corresponding outline stamps. I used the Veranda paper line. My colors are Tulip, Olive and Desert Sand. I used the waterbrush to blend the Tulip color on the flowers and the Olive and Desert Sand on the stems and leaves. I dry embossed lines on the White Daisy CS for some texture. Add a  few pewter brads, put two ribbons together and place a Dimensional Element Heart on the center to finish it off.

I wanted to continue with some decoration in the inside. Here is what I did.
I covered the inside with the same papers as the front. Introduced the dry embossing and a flower along with the sentiment. I added a small butterfly and trail along the top.

All CTMH supplies (except if noted):
Veranda Level 2
White Daisy ,Olive,Tulip CS
Olive, Tulip, Desert Sand Inks
You Are Beautiful Stamp set
Chocolate ribbons
Pewter brads
Dimensional Elements Hearts

Paper Shoes

For Mother's Day I made these really unique "Lady's Shoe" It is a paper shoe complete with a heel and filled with chocolate.  I thought it was a cute idea I found while on the internet. Ellen Hutson is the designer of this template. She made it available on the CK website under Downloads. That is where I found it. If you click on her highlighted name the link I have attached there will take you to the template and directions.  Using the template  I used  a heavier card stock type patterned paper from a Making Memories paper pack for my shoes. I used ribbons, flowers and trim to decorate them.

Aren't they FUN?! It was a bit of a challenge at first in figuring out how to put the pieces together but when I finally figured it out I loved them. Hope you like them too. Have fun making some yourself. They would be perfect at a ladies Tea, teacher gifts , bridal shower etc.

Sympathy Card

These are always a hard card to make but an important card to. A dear friend of mine recently suffered a loss and this was the card I made for her. I used the TLC stamp set, Veranda papers, Cocoa buttons and ribbon. I stamped using Cocoa, Olive and Tulip. I did a little paper piecing with the hearts on the vine. I used a circle card from the "Wishes" card book.

Check it out...

I came back to update my post from April 21 Titled "Unforgettable Layout. Here is the link to it or you can scroll down to find it also.
I had mentioned I was waiting to use a product that was new to me. It was the Dimensional Elements monograms and the Simple Uppercase alpha. I LOVE this product!! It comes in shapes and designs along with alphabets and numbers so there are a number of ways to use it. This product takes inking and chalking very well to make them any color you want. You can also use the paint with a few drops of a  re-inker color and color them that way too. Try the  Pearl paint for a shimmer look. Rub ons can be applied, cover them with B&T papers the list goes on and on. Can you tell I got excited about them? I don't know what took me so long. lol  So check out that post to see them on that layout and I am sure I will be back with more examples of how I have used them in my projects.
Any questions just ask me. Visit my website to shop for them.

Happy Mother's Day

First I want to wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day this weekend!!
I will be spending the day with my daughter and family. I am looking forward to it so much.
Now on to the project....

I have been working on a few cards and will bring them to you over the next few days.
The first card I want to show you I made for my daughter for Mother's Day.
It is a 3 1/2 x 8 card using White Daisy card stock for the base. I used B&T paper from Boom Di Ada along with  Holly hock and New England Ivy card stocks. The little lady is from the Just Because stamp set and Say it in Style for the "Happy Mother's Day".I paper pieced her dress and added white polka dots with my White gel pen.  I used a stitched Hollyhock ribbon and a little Prism Glitter as embellishments.  I hope she likes it. I had fun making it for her.

Somebirdy Loves You

My husband and I celebrated our Wedding Anniversary and this is the card I made for him. It is a 6x6 card. My husband enjoys feeding the birds and having bird feeders etc. so I used the stamp set Somebirdy Loves You as my main focus for the card. I added a little machine stitching and Dimensional elements in addition to the stamping to make this design.  My colors are Sweet Leaf, Lilac Mist, Cocoa, Desert Sand  and Colonial White. I carried a little into the inside of the card to give it a more completed feel. I don't know if it was because of the bigger card size or what but I felt I needed to add some components to the inside. I think that's everything.
I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for stopping by.
