Another Veranda Layout

I love this Veranda paper and so I made another layout continuing on with my Granddaughter's newborn pictures. I used the colors of Juniper, Garden Green, and Blush. A very simple layout but I think still effective. I gathered Blush satin polka dotted ribbon across the bottom . The title is the Friendship E-size alphabet. I made the stamped embellishments with Friendship Blessing and Smiles.

Veranda Layout

There is a kit called Veranda . It has a color palette of Juniper, Garden Green, Cocoa, and Creme Brulee. Because I made them for pictures of my Granddaughter so  I added a little Blush color. I made 4 pages altogether so far and will show you 2 of them here and come back to show you the other 2 pages.

The techniques used in making these pages were scissor distressing, stamping with second generation and the Rock n Roll methods, and altering Filigree Charms with Brown Staz On ink. Lot's of fun things to try to add to your scrapbooking.

My Stamp storage system

I thought I would show you what I do for both storing and keeping track of what stamp sets I have.  So I don't buy the same one twice lol and so I know what I have when working on a project I developed this system.

There are 3 parts to it.
1. The storage portion.
I have drawers that I have them sorted by categories. You will notice the different colors. The CTMH Idea Book is divided into sections. Sentiments, Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, Alphabets, Celebration, Everyday Life etc. Each category is a CTMH color on the sleeve in the stamp envelope. So in this picture the pink is Blush and that means Sentiments, the next one is Alphabets which is Indian Corn blue and the last one showing is Spring in Buttercup. The colored sleeves give a quick reference to the group of stamps you are looking for.
I also have them in order by the item number within there group.
2. The Binder

Shown here is an album that I have the picture of each stamp set I have in a sleeve. You see the colored tabs along the side? Those are the actual color cardstock that matches the sheet in each stamp set. So I have Sentiments and then all the stamps I own following that tab. There is a tab for each group that CTMH sells.

3. The Notebook. It is a notebook that lists each of my stamps in the same order as shown above. This notebook also holds all the other products sold by CTMH so I can check if I have it and know what I still want to buy. I used the same card stock tabs to identify the stamp set categories.

This system is working really good for me. I can find what I want easily and quickly. It is really nice for discovering all the stamps within a stamp set that I don't know about or remember they are in the set.
Thanks for looking.

St. Patrick's Day is near

Well if you didn't know I am definitely Irish! I was born with a good percentage of Irish and then I married Irish.  So of course I had to make a St. Patrick's Day card to send to my Granddaughter.  I used these colors. Heavenly Blue, Olive , Key Lime. Not the colors you would immediately think of but they went together quite well.   I made a fairly simple card but hope you like it.
I used some distressing and sanding showing our fantastic white core with the CTMH card stock, along with the stitches, liquid glass, and ink edging.

Inside I added a pot of gold. So of course I had to send along a few "coins" from that pot of gold.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!
Supplies:
all CTMH unless noted
Heaveny Blue card stock
Key Lime Card stock
Olive card stock
So Lucky stamp set
Olive Ink
Liquid Glass

Autumn Craft Buttons
Sanding block
The coins used the Holiday Jubliee stamp set and a misc sticker.

Felicity Card #5

I hope you aren't tired of seeing examples from the Felicity Kit. I made another card using the beautiful Twilight and Cocoa colors together. The Die Cuts that were a part of this kit were used in layouts and cards. Using portions in a number of projects  really spread the value. Because I had already used the Twilight Die Cut on the very first layout I made I had to be a bit creative in duplicating that same look but with the pieces I have left. So I traced the shape from one that I had left onto the back side of another one to get my Twilight color. Then traced it again on the front side to get the colonial white portion. Then with some second generation stamping of the flourishes to give it a little dimension and trimming it to fit inside the Twilight piece.  The strip going across the card could hold a Title. Until I know who will get the card I am waiting to fill that in or keep it blank.
Evewn though it was a challenge getting it all figured out I feel it was worth it. What do you think?

Felicity Card #4

I am still having fun with my Felicity Kit.  This uses the Dimensional Elements for the stars. They were inked with Creme Brulee and then edged with Desert Sand. The Dimensional Elements color beautifully ans are  very easy to work with.  I added a little stitching and some Bitty Sparkles. I love those Bitty Sparkles!! I will have more to come showing different ways of using them.
I hope you enjoy it.

Take another Look at Felicity

I love this kit so much I have made another layout using the Felicity Kit and some fun techniques.
This is the left page. Zigzag stitching, pleated ribbon, along with chipboard letters and heart embellishments are featured on this page.

Here is the right page. the stitching and pleated ribbon continue across to this side of the layout. Another beautiful die cut that holds the journaling adds to this page. The clear buttons and stamping complete the page.
Here are the 2 pages together showing how one page flows into the next.  Because I stamped over the picture I used Brown Staz On Ink for the Flourishes.

Although my pictures are from an event years ago (more than I want to say lol)  I was happy to get them on a layout and in my family album. I hope you like them.

All CTMH supplies used.

I'm going to be.... (update)

I'm going to be a Grandma again!!!! We are so excited. So of course I had to make a card to congratulate my daughter and son-in-law. I haven't sent it yet so I hope they don't see it before it gets to them. I just couldn't wait to show you though. It is a card and diaper bag set.  I hope using the colors and sweet pea paper makes it generic enough. They are waiting until the birth of this little one to find out if it is a boy or girl. I agree that is the best way to go too. The excitement and surprise is like nothing else.
Here are a couple of pictures showing each item separately.
This is the Diaper Bag.

Here's the card. It is supposed to be a Onsie. What do you think?  This was done using my Cricut Expressions Machine and a Design file I found on Custom Crops. It is so much fun putting designs together from different cartridges. Someday I hope to be able to do just that. For now I am grateful there are so many talented people out there that like to share their files. Three cartridges were used to make this. New Arrival, George and Storybook.

Here is another version making it a bit more generic when the sex is not known.

This card was made without the Cricut  using a 1 3/8th punch and a 2" scallop punch.  Start with  a card cut at 11 x 4 1/4. Score at shoulders which is 5 1/2.
Punch using the 1 3/8" punch a neck by going halfway in. (sorry the punch is upside down)

Place the card in at the halfway point for the neck and for the legs place it as shown in the picture.

Make your sleeves by placing the fold at 1 3/4 and cut in 1/2" on both sides. Then draw a diagonal line from the top of the leg to the sleeve cut.

Make the scallop trim by first punching in halfway with the 1 3/8" in the color of your choice. Then take the scallop punch and center around your half circle. Do this 3 times.

Cut a 1/4" x 1 3/4" strip for the sleeve trim. Score the bottom on the back side at 1/2" on the front. Put in 3 button brads in this scored section for the snaps.
I ran my front of the card through the Cuttlebug and the Dotted Swiss embossing folder. (I LOVE that Dotted Swiss folder.) I've seen these made in all different colors and they are cute as can be. I even saw a Hawaiian shower theme where the Moondoggie paper from CTMH was used to make these. Very CUTE!!!
Give it a try next time you need a baby shower or card .

A Couple of Christmas cards

Like I mentioned a couple of days ago I would have a couple of more Christmas cards to show you. One is a 3x3 card and the other a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. I continued with my Evensong paper and stickease from CTMH.

I am finding that whether you are making a scrapbook layout, card, Home Dec or any other type project that a number of different techniques can be used. These cards use ribbon, liquid glass, prisma glitter, fabric tags, stickease and sparkles. You can learn new things no matter what you are making and then be able to  use those techniques in future projects.  I hope you enjoy these cards.

A Taste of Veranda

I just love the Veranda paper  from CTMH. The colors are so beautiful together. It is made up of Creme Brulee, Cocoa, Garden Green, and Juniper.
I also have wanted to try the Easel Card. So I thought why not put the two together and make this card. I also used the So Sweet stamp set.
I hope you like it.
To make the size  card I made  start with cardstock 4 1/4 x 8 1/2. Score at 4 1/4 and 6 3/8. This will make a 4 1/4 square card. You can also make this card in different sizes. I will make them and be back to show you those also. Fold your card in half and then fold the other score line the opposite way. Now add strong adhesive like Scor Tape to this flap.  Add a 4 1/4 square cardstock  on top of that.  You now have the base of a Ease card. Decorate the front  and inside. When doing the inside you need to add layers or an embellishment about 1/3 up. That's it! You can make this style for any event or theme.
I made mine to send to a friend to brighten her days while she is recuperating. I hope she doesn't see it here before it arrives in the mail. Shhh....
